Cardiff City take on Huddersfield Town at the weekend as they look to bounce back from consecutive defeats.
The Bluebirds host high-flyers Huddersfield Town on Saturday in their first fixture back from the international break and Neil Warnock will be looking to force his team back on track.
Cardiff went into the break suffering back-to-back defeats, against Wigan Athletic and Newcastle United respectively.
Warnock’s men were unlucky to concede a late equaliser after dominating against Wigan and a bright second half display was not enough to save them against Newcastle, a team destined for the title.
Cardiff now enter another tough set of fixtures with Huddersfield at home followed by a trip to a rejuvenated Aston Villa before welcoming an in-form Brighton.
However, Cardiff must be confident at home if they have ambitions of turning their disastrous start to the season into a top-half finish.
Huddersfield have been a real surprise package this season but David Wagner’s team-orientated style has seen them soar and they are where they are on merit.
The Terriers have been very impressive this season and despite a recent wobble they remain in third place, five points behind second-placed Norwich.
However, Warnock will not read too much into the opposition's feel-good story and he will be targeting three points for his team.
Cardiff have slowly improved under the new boss and three points against an in-from team like Huddersfield may be just what they need to force their season into gear.
Big wins can define a season and a home win against a team currently in third place could be one of those.
Three points would also see the Bluebirds take real confidence into a tough away trip to Villa the following week.
With Steve Bruce’s side improving massively of late, you do not want to turn up at Villa Park low on confidence and Warnock will know that.
