Charlton Athletic have parted company with manager Russell Slade after just 16 league matches in charge of the club.
Slade leaves the crisis-ridden club, who were relegated from the Championship last season, in mid-table after a 3-0 defeat at Swindon that left Charlton six points off the playoff places and just three clear of the relegation zone.
The former Cardiff City manager was the seventh appointed by owner Roland Duchatelet since taking over the club in early 2014 and was tasked with bringing stability to the Valley after a string of managers with little to no experience in the English game had been unable to keep the Addicks in the second tier.
Standard Sport understands that Charlton hope to have a new manager in place shortly with ex-Sint Truiden manager Chris O'Loughlin reported to be the leading contender.
