Why is it shameful?

on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month most of the nation, including the players stopped to observe a 2 minute silence.

Most of the nation, including the players will also be attending memorial events across the country today.

Can you explain to me two things, why is it shameful and why would there have been a need for a minute silence at a Football game last night when those of us who want to pay our respects to our brave forces have already done so on the 11th and today, remembrance Sunday.

I'm not trying to be clever here, I just genuinely don't understand it and I can guarantee the majority of people moaning wont have been near a memorial event all weekend.

I'll tell you what is more disgusting and shameful is the fact I bet hardly any of the people who just love something to moan about attended any event's be it today or the 11th, I bet some of them didn't even take 2 minutes aside on Friday but are outraged there wasn't a minutes silence at the football, you couldn't make it up tbh.

That's all very well and good but Armistice day was Friday and Remembrance day is today, those are the days we hold a silence to remember those who lost their lives in conflict.

Organisations and sports teams trying to do their own thing (hijack) the period is why it gets looked on as a political stroke because in effect that is exactly what they are doing, it is like a competition these days, look at me look at me, we did this, they did that rather than people just remembering in their own way, which is the whole point.

Poppy displays in football grounds, all a load of bollocks. Get out to a memorial event to your local cenotaph, stick a few quid in the collection boxes or actually take a bit of time to have a chat with some veterans.

There is absolutely no need for extra minutes silences outside of the official 2 we have.

Exactly this I know a few footie lads who because of a hangover from yesterday couldn't make the town memorial service today for the laying of the wreaths. Slag out the FAW can't get out of bed themselves.
