A person has reportedly been hit by a train causing train delays between Cardiff and Bridgend.

The incident happened in Pencoed and services on both Great Western Railway and Arriva Trains Wales are suspended between the two stations.

According to National Rail, disruption is expected until 5pm, and South Wales Police announced all roads "in the immediate area" around Pencoed station were closed.

Rhian Griffiths, who says she is on the train involved in the incident, said: “You could feel the train jolting. We knew we were approaching the station so at first just assumed it was cause of that. But it wasn’t a normal stop.”

She has hospitality tickets for the Wales vs Argentina match, kicking off at 5.30pm at the Principality Stadium.
