Former Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay is in line for a top job with the Scottish Football Association, according to MailOnline.
Mackay is one of the favourites to take over as the next performance director of the SFA. The man who guided Cardiff into the Premier League is wanted by the SFA to replace Brian McClair, who quit the important role after 13 months.
Mackay has been out of football since being sacked by Wigan Athletic in November last year and was interviewed for the Celtic job before Brendan Rodgers' appointment.

The Scot has struggled to find a job in football over the last year, with many believing his acrimonious departure from Cardiff City has held him back.
A key part of the SFA role is communicating the national performance strategy to Scottish clubs, an aspect that McClair found difficult during his tenure.
Mackay spent eight years in Scotland as a player for Queen's Park and Celtic, as well as playing for the national side on five occasions. His experience puts him top of the SFA shortlist alongside former Celtic and Scotland striker John collins.
The SFA have appointed Sports Recruitment International, a London headhunting agency, to lead their search for a new performance director.
An appointment is expected sometime in the new year.
