RED BULL SWINDON?

Thu Nov 10, 2016 2:07 pm

Apparently energy drink mammoth Red Bull is in Advanced talks to buy Swindon Town & become RB Swindon. Interesting stuff with what's going on there.

**As I was typing this, They have appointed Tim Sherwood as director of football**

crazy thing going on in football

They'll be able to play the Swansea White Sox at the Statue Of Liberty Stadium. Yeeha.

Can't see it happening tbh, think if it was ever possible to happen they would have bought Leeds when they were linked with them.

They will never get a name change through the FA and they won't be interested in taking over without getting the 'RB' in the name. I was reading about RB Leipzig and for that they bought the rights of a German 5th Division side and have come through the Leagues year on year since 09 to now 2nd in Bundesliga. I don't think the Germans allowed them to use 'Red Bull' in the name so they call themselves RasenBallsport Leipzig but promote themselves as RB Leipzig.

The FA have set the precedent now when they refused Allam the change to Hull Tigers. The only way they will ever do it in England is if they set up from scratch and use a play on words like in Germany.
