Yeah I agree, thought you worded it in a way that you just meant the competition has always been shambles, apologies.

Don't be sorry, it's all good. Yeah I always followed the results, I think the competition and I think for clubs that come up from the conference it must be an exciting thing to be a part of.. really hope it doesn't stay the way it is currently Annis, need to look at the attendances and how the supporters see it.

I think they are being unfair to lower league clubs in the sense that clubs like Crewe are sometimes put in situations where they have to implement their youngsters earlier than they would want too where these Prem clubs are getting easy chances of senior level against lower league opposition, giving Prem clubs a chance to blood youngsters where we are in a position where we have to play in a DVP league because some clubs simply won't take our youngsters on loan, if that makes sense.

Dando, Your like me, take a massive interest in lower division football. I hope they leave the lower league clubs to get on with it and keep their noses out :thumbright: :bluebird:

Agree Annis, I think it would be ignorant to ignore the leagues below us considering we was there once ourselves and stuff like the JPT has always been good for lower league clubs but I hope they listen to the fans. Why should they take interest in the cup now when the Prem clubs honestly don't give two tosses about it. :thumbright:

It was far better as it was.

Crap competition made even worse by allowing the B teams in.

They get their chance in the FA cup and league cup why they have another "cup" competition for the 2 lower divisions I don't know.

Well you have answered your own question in your post, it is clear as day how hard it is for clubs in League 1 or League 2 is to progress in them competitions and we have the luxury in the sense to progress in these cups as well as the Prem clubs having a chance to progress in Europe so it is a chance for the lower end to eat up the time during the season to have extra matches and extra revenue so the clubs lower can make money.

Extra revenue  Did you miss the opening post? There's barely anyone attending ffs. By the time you pay appearance money, staff, stewards, utilities, away travel.etc.etc then it's unlikely clubs are making any money from this pathetic cup competition.

Clubs at this level already have opportunity to play earlier round games in the 2 main cup competitions plus 46 league games a season they dont exactly need to "eat up time".

Perhaps they should go a step further and have another cup just for league two because they have less chance of progression than league one clubs? and whilst they are at it maybe have an earlier round for the 12 teams who finished bottom half of the table the season before to give them more of a chance of progressing?
