STUPID TROPHY SAY NOTTS COUNTY FANS
Notts County fans at Sunderland tonight in the stupidest trophy in history.
Welcome to tonight's Sunderland AFC live blog, as the Black Cats take on Notts County in their final Checkatrade Trophy group clash.
Sunderland go into the match in second place in Northern Group F on four points, after drawing with Rochdale and then beating Hartlepool United.
And they know that anything but a defeat tonight will send them through to the next stage.
But John Sheridan brings his Magpies side to the Stadium of Light knowing they can still make it through themselves, and are sure to test the Black Cats.
It will be a Sunderland Under-23 side again tonight, of course, with Premier League and Championship sides having start at least six players who were under the age of 21 as of June 30 this year in each game.
But the Wearsides are also set to feature the likes of Vito Mannone and Seb Larsson as they make their way back from injuries.
Steve Brown is at the Stadium of Light tonight, and we'll bring you live updates, plus all the reaction and analysis at the final whistle.
