' 6 STRIKERS AVAILABLE FOR CARDIFF CITY/BUT WARNOCK '

Below are Six strikers available for Cardiff City, but Neil Warnock has stressed we have to also sell first.

Warnock has already he admitted he wants to bolster the Bluebirds' squad in the next transfer window

Despite an encouraging start under Neil Warnock, Cardiff City MUST add more goals in their side.

It was an admission Warnock himself made before last weekend's defeat to Newcastle and, even during a five-game stint that has seen the Bluebirds pick up seven points, has become blatantly obvious.

The former Norwich winger was bullied by the Latics' defenders that day and, when Lambert was subbed off at St James' Park, there was no pace on the Cardiff City bench to trouble Newcastle centre backs Ciaran Clark and Jamal Lascelles. Marouane Chamakh appears to still be searching for match fitness.

While recalling loaned-out strikers Idriss Saidi and Adam Le Fondre could be an option for Warnock, his Friday press conference comments suggested he was ready to foray into the January transfer market.

“We haven’t got an awful lot of natural goalscorers so we have to work harder for the goals, so we have to try and solve those problems in January because I don’t think we can solve them before.

“We have got to be out and about in these next few weeks, looking at international games, and all the staff will be looking at players at different levels in the next couple of weeks.”

Offloading players was also a necessity, Warnock admitted. But even then, who could Cardiff lure to the club given the limited resources available?

Fraizer Campbell

An obvious solution and one that would surely prove popular with supporters. Campbell became a cult hero at Cardiff City Stadium thanks to his Premier League goalscoring exploits, which included an incredible double to help the Bluebirds stun Manchester City 3-2. His goal ratio at Cardiff (13 in 41 starts) is far superior to his record at Crystal Palace and Sunderland.

The former Manchester United trainee is currently out of favour with the Eagles too after the arrivals of Christian Benteke and Loic Remy, so may be interested in a return to the Welsh capital.

Jordan Rhodes

After twice making big money moves to Championship clubs, Rhodes would only be available on loan but could be keen on a return to the second flight, given his inability to beat Alvaro Negredo to a starting berth at Middlesbrough.

With 83 goals in 159 appearances for Blackburn and 73 goals in 124 for Huddersfield, he would fit the 'natural goalscorer' bill. May take some persuading to drop down to Cardiff given that he's already proven himself at the top end of the Championship.

Sam Winnall

This could be a really exciting signing with one eye on the future. Winnall's rise has been stark since being dropped by Wolves as a trainee in 2013 and a succession of unsuccessful loans. A move to Scunthorpe ignited the 25-year-old's career and his goal record since joining Barnsley two years ago has been impressive.

He scored 24 goals to help the Tykes to League One promotion last term and could be that natural finisher Cardiff are craving.

Kyle Lafferty

Lafferty is something of a modern football enigma, seemingly unable to recreate his astonishing international form at domestic level. But if Warnock can get the best out of the Northern Ireland star, he could be a huge success in the Championship..

Cardiff were linked with a move for the Norwich City striker in August and could go back in for the 29-year-old, who has 19 international goals to his name and be my available on the cheap.

David Nugent

With Lambert 34 and Chamakh 32, Bluebirds fans might be reluctant to see another experienced striker join in January. The emphasis should be on finding an injection of youth and pace. Yet Nugent has been so prolific in the Championship throughout his career and shouldn't be ignored.

Like Rhodes, he is struggling to find a place in the Boro first XI after the arrival of Negredo and could be tempted to join the Warnock revolution if the money was right.

Nouha Dicko

Injury prone, but pacey and by no means goal-shy. And at 24 too, Dicko has age on his side so could be worth a gamble (and we all know Warnock likes a gamble).

Dicko formed a great understanding with Bakary Sako and Benik Afobe a couple of years ago but could now be primed for a move away from Molineux with Wolves plummetting. He has 42 goals in 107 career games, including 14 in the 2014/15 season.

Dikho, Winnall and Rhodes would be ideal and if Tan has any ambition then he would put his hand in his pocket to bring in 1 or 2 strikers in the window.

We're going places with Neil, not this season as this should be about stabilising our season and pushing on next, we could be a right force with a few additional players.

A loan move for Danny ings would be good move if we can pay reduced wage, would benefit both parties in my opinion

A good move?
He's constantly injured and is out for the season again.

Get bothroyd back, he had a couple of decent seasons with us about 7 years ago and he's only 34, just what we need...
