As for God save the queen don't like it don't register it as my national anthem it is the British national anthem and not the English anthem if I'm correct so why they use it not sure.
We as the UK are facing difficult times a dwindling country on the international scale if the UK brakes up its curtains for the home nations in my mind .
Stronger together.
We have lost a family member in the British army from the royal Welsh so as for respecting the armed forces past and present they have my full respect in 2 world wars especially.
Although I have to say the British have been a cruel brutal force in the empire days that must be said but without GB the world would be a worse place.

I don't really get the whole "Welsh and proud British" thing. Wales has NO recognition on the Union Jack and I don't feel united in any way.

Not unless you have served will you know the comradeship shared by all and the mutual respect. Banter was par for the course with regard to our origins, but we all pulled together as our ancestors did before them.
Those small minded enough to think at any stage we, Wales, could have been a major influence without being part of the United Kingdom need to have a reality check.
On the flip side, without the many welshmen and women throughout history, and even now who contribute to the UK, England would not have flourished so well.
Bye the way I do not boo GSTQ, but neither do I sing it

Why would we have wanted to be 'a major influence'? We're a country of three million, we'll never have the population to be a world power.

Really? I was not there but have seen a few videos which show that it was certainly booed/whistled by some England fans. In the stadium as well as in the fanzone itself. I'm not sure why they did it, because Wales fans didn't boo GSTQ. Probably because they think we should be part of England and just generally think that we're beneath them.

Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau is one of the few anthems which doesn't refer to conquering and killing ( look at the second verse of Mrs Windsor 's one).
I'll sing it proudly and, like republicans in England, have no truck with the Queen .

Our fans booed GSTQ when we played them in that friendly before the Euros, hardly beyond the realms of reality to suggest that Welsh fans also booed in Lens.
Oh and if you think English people look down on you then that has more to do with you then them. Trust me when you have a good professional job like myself the English lads who work for you do not look down on you for being a Welshman, believe that. You probably say that as your flipping burgers or working some other job where your going to feel everybody looks down on you.

We are a principality, our head of state is HRH the prince of Wales
