Rafa Benitez was frustrated with the referee, arguing that Marouane Chamakh should have penalised for handball in the build-up to Cardiff's consolation goal.
He also was critical of the level of contact and physicality the referee allowed throughout.
Benitez said: “A lot of the decision we were not happy with. For us it was a handball [from Chamakh], he moves his arm and shoulder towards the ball.”
The result leaves Cardiff hovering just above the Championship relegation zone with 15 points from 16 games.
