Got to agree considering our position in the championship villa on the horizon but mostly how far it is, while its a novelty game for your Brentfords and burtons it is not for us. For the midland and northern clubs not such a journey. I didn't enjoy being up in the gods, even 3,500 voices were lost that day which is why they put you there. Daunting task today but football is football.

Mate,i'm up here and the talking to the Geordies, they say we will be the worst support up here this season

Re: Our support tomorrow

Not really
Brenford brought well over 2000
Preston had 1200 plus for a Tuesday night EFL at sjp
This will be the lowest away support for a while :sad7:

Re: Our support tomorrow

Its just over 2 hours from Preston to Newcastle, as for Brentford it was their first gane there in 15 years.

You are not comparing like with like.

Norwich took 400 this season,

As for someone mentioning Preston, it was £10 a ticket & a novelty game for them.

634 mile round trip. 850 is an outstanding effort

So that's Norwich towards the top of the League took 400 and Reading took 500 (on a Wednesday granted) but at the start of the season with 2 wins out of 3.

We are 4th from bottom, its our 4th visit in 6 years and we are taking between 8-900 for an 11-12 hour round trip (if your lucky).

Its no good comparing us to the likes of Preston, Huddersfield, Barnsley etc etc, Newcastle for them is like Villa for us.

A fair comparison is the likes of Norwich, Reading, QPR, Fulham all who have played there a few times recently with roughly the same distance to travel.

It's a brilliant turnout all things considered  :bluescarf:

Lets just hope we improve on last seasons away average when we were 8th in the Championship as even though we are low down this season, but not as low as Bolton were last season in the results table, theres a new feeling about our club under Neil Warnock :thumbright: :thumbright:

And we are playing some big clubs away :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Still don't understand how fans get so angry and abusive towards the club they " love " it is what it is, make up for it in noise. Not bad support at all considering everything. Enjoy

Support was brilliant today.

Newcastle fans telling me the same.

Team made us proud- especially 2nd half

Just come out of the Star Wars bar up here.
Asked for a pic with some Newcastle fans but one wasn't keen. Apart from that it's been brilliant, to a man we've been well received.
Great day, great trip.
Cardiff fans immense, singing from before the game until we left the ground -superb lads, and recognised by those here today, ignore the negativity and be proud of who you are.

It should be even better at Villa.

This is the truth.
Also for the London clubs it's a straightforward train trip up.
For us it's a weekend away or 14 hour round coach trip.

Tbh if there was 50 of us away then so what, these are the clubs lifeblood- no matter what the number. I've been away with 60. It rises and falls depending on success
