Ian Holloway has been looking ahead to Saturday’s match at St James Park.
When Newcastle meet Cardiff, the Sky Sports pundit reckons that if anybody can beat United, Neil Warnock can.
It is top of the table against the team that has felt the benefit of new manager bounce.
After picking up only 8 points in their first 11 matches, the first 3 under Neil Warnock produced 7, with two wins and a draw.
That bubble was popped with a 1-0 home defeat to fellow strugglers Wigan last weekend and Ian Holloway says it is obvious there are problems in the Cardiff dressing room to sort out.
For Newcastle, Rafa Benitez’ only problem is making sure his players keep their current form going, with six Championship wins in a row they are top of the form table, as well as clear at the top of the league.
Ian Holloway sees Newcastle cruising to victory tomorrow and predicts a 3-1 scoreline with man of the moment Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring first.
Ian Holloway talking to Sky Sports:
“Well, they (Cardiff) have just lost to Wigan 1-0 after being on a crest of a wave, so they might feel on a crest of a slump after that.
There are problems in that dressing room and I know Neil (Warnock), he is a great bloke, but he is not a miracle worker.
“Can they beat Newcastle?
“Well, if anyone can, Neil can.
“He will have a gameplan, it will be different to anyone else’s, he is a great motivator, but I just think Newcastle will have too much for them.
“They have shaken off the weight of the shirt and the responsibility, the place is buzzing and I can see them cruising.”
