It's really disappointing to hear we've only sold 500 tickets to what is the bigggest and best away game of the season .
Even Brentford took just under 3000.. A crowd of over 50000 is going to feel more like a proper premiership game
... Newcastle is a great city with loads of great bars and clubs and a very friendly welcome awaits ..Come on we can do better than this .Get your arses up to Geordieland ..Gorgeous birds too !

It hasn't helped having 2 high profile and attractive away fixtures, Newcastle and Villa, in the same month. Newcastle is best done as a weekender and that will be expensive. Villa is a comparatively much shorter journey and cheaper away so it's no surprise that we will take more there. Think we may sell out for Villa but no chance for Newcastle.

It was the first time Brentford had played there in 15 years. First League game there in 23 years.
This is our 4th visit in 6 years.
We will take between 800-1,000 all things considered will be an ok turnout.

You are right. Our first time up there for a while we took 3500, we then played twice up there in the prem season.
It's a long trip, likely to be beaten and Wales home vs Australia in the rugby.
I reckon we'll take nearly 3k to Villa.
I'm flying up tomorrow evening making a weekend of it.

It's a great trip, done it a few times. But the younger generation aren't following us in numbers, the generation that followed us in big numbers away from home have other priorities in life. I include myself in that, 5-6 away games at most and having to pick which ones can be difficult and not just that but which games can be attended due to the other commitments in your life.
The old guard turned up for Burton, Villa will be a sell out full of old eds, guarantee you that. Don't be disappointed just enjoy it, Tynemouth on a Sunday is a real eye opener.

Good tip as above is Tynemouth Front Street for a drink - go on the metro from centre of Newcastle. Takes 25 mins and about £3.50 each way. Class bars and places to eat
Unless you're aged under 20 don't go to the Bigg Market or The Gate complex. All the best bars are in or off Grey St, along Collingwood St or on the Quayside
Away fans can have a great time as long as they're grown up and don't act up

Tynemouth is really picturesque ... lovely beaches and great pubs.. Recommend Barca bar .. As for Newcastle city centre there are some great pubs in Bigg market ..filthys .. caters for all ages .... Great cocktails in Barluga on grey street and Beyoncé bar in the gate .. Best real ale pub is crown posada a bit like the old Albert on st Mary street but a lot nicer

Now.
I'm on the plane at Bristol now

Some rich buggers on here going up on a plane and spending a few nights in Newcastle!
I'm going to spend 12 hours on a coach tomorrow there and back with my knees around my ears risking Deep Vein Thrombosis to see us probably take a drubbing whilst perched half a mile in the air at the stadium!
Can't wait!

Fare play to you that is dedication! Always stayed up there, did Sunderland up and back on a Tuesday night accident on way up so no pub straight in to watch game, back on bus and home. But chopra did send us home with 3 points.
