Im not saying that this forum is slowing down alarmingly but a running forum that I visit often has died of death to the point that more posts are made about it being quiet than anything else at the moment!

I think it will take alot for this one to die off but it has been a bit of a wake up call. Perhaps there might be things that can be done to boost the numbers?

With Cardiff playing regular there is plenty to draw people in but the more the merrier I say. If you want a debate the more opinions the better it is. You can see a post from the forum im on about below. The Jacks dont come on here much anymore or other clubs for that matter so could that be a symptom of the site needing to develop?

It pays to be proactive so maybe this post might give the moderators and organisers something to think about.

As I said on the other thread, I think it's a mixture of things - some regulars who used to post a lot have moved on, with Strava we can all see each others training so that gets discussed a lot less on the forums, and I think new runners are more likely these days to use Facebook, Twitter etc to seek advice, so the site probably gets far fewer new users than before.

Ellis makes a good point about the lack of development/updates too. The site is basically the same as it was when I first joined four years ago. I bet Google is ranking it a lot lower these days than it used to, which compounds the problem with the lack of new members to replace those that leave.

TBH I can't say I have any answers but I pass on my personal feedback. Too many sticky threads and the over reliance on Wales on Line stories. Also with sticky threads they always seem to be from moderators, how about giving more prominence to other board members?

It would be nice to have more updates but I'm not sure if that is practical anymore.

I dont post on any forums like I used to, I dont know where I got the time before, but for me theres too many threads on here with little or no reply.

I can catch up on general football news on Sky Sports News I dont need to sift through threads on here telling me players from other clubs have signed a new contract.etc. I dont know what purpose that serves on this messageboard.

CCMB has less threads but more replies so people actually get into discussion.

Too many of the same topics recycled over and over and also think the anti-Tan agenda on here has got a bit tiresome.

Just my opinion.

Without a doubt the anti-Tan threads were soul destroying with the same crap recycled in the name of 'opinion' time and again. There wasn't even any creativity about them nearly all started with "Whose to blame" and then took you on a route one journey to Vincent Tan.

What we need on this board is more objectivity where posters write what they really think, rather than write what will make others happy and make them popular into the bargain.

This forum is nowhere near as busy as it used to be which is a great shame. At one time it was the best football forum of the lot, full of characters and strong opinions. I believe it was ruined by Santa Ponsa blue and Worcester CCFC who just spammed the whole forum full of useless news pieces that have nothing to do with Cardiff. The problem is most threads on here don't get to 5 replies anymore let alone two pages as there's nothing to debate in a lot of what is put out by the mods.

A lot has to do with the club and how we are doing - before we had inside info which got us talking.

Also if fans stay away - most will show no interest on this forum or others in voicing their views.

People may have had enough of " The Circus " and find to spend their time in other places.

I Don't know the answer - But i spend less time on here as the OP - Is correct - The stats are in the hits.

Keep the faith - WE ALL WANT IS BEST :bluebird:

Not sure about your second point. This forum has had plenty on here telling us why they don't go any more. Not a majority of 'stay-aways' perhaps, but more than enough!

Too many stickies copied and pasted from elsewhere and too much click bait.
General apathy on my part aswell.

Yes its become a chore sifting through the dross to find a real story or opinion. We need to adopt a "never mind the width feel the quality"attitude. The other thing that pisses me off immensely is/has been the use of multi's just because they want to voice an opinion but are too scared to do it under their own ID.

Just waiting for someone to blame it on Tan or the rebrand or Brexit.

Now see heres a classic situation. This topic should be an immediate sticky because its an important topic as far as this forum is concerned and I expect will get a healthy amount of contributors yet Carl posted an opinion which was an immediate sticky and at the time of posting this had no replies.Honestly Carl I'm made up that you think NW is a breath of fresh air but a sticky, really?A post should only be a sticky if it becomes a popular topic and not before or is an important announcement.

Nothing personal Carl but there's just too much clutter.

Couldn't agree more with regards to the Santa Ponsa blue comment. Used to piss me right off seeing the constant spam of anything and everything he seen online.

One thing which would boost numbers is if we have a interview a former player again, I believe there was one a few years ago and if I'm correct scott young and andy legg did one. Be great to have one with other former players.
