He disappeared around the start of September which is when the school year starts. So I assume he is studying hard. :P

Good luck to him but I must admit I find it difficult to understand how you can just stop being interested like that.

I'm sure my experience echoes that of many of you other board users in that when my father took me to my first City game in 1970 I knew pretty quickly that I would be hooked for years to come.

There have been many times over the past 46 years where I've cursed my dad for getting me hooked on a club that has provided so many disappointments and dark days but still I kept coming back.

Through the teenage years, college, work, girls, marriage, family and so many other distractions there have been many times when I was sorely tempted to turn my back on Cardiff City and there were long periods of time when I rarely went to the games mainly due to the fact that I was living away and money was tight.

However, I went when I could and every time I went back I was bitten by the bug again - I could never really give up on the club no matter how bad things became and, as we know, they became pretty bad pretty often.

But the successes of the last ten years or so have more than made up for any of the bad times. City at Wembley not once but four times in a few seasons :o Winning the Championship and getting promoted to the top division for the first time in my lifetime - fantastic. Ok, the season was awful but we were there.

I know my experiences are similar to many others on this board and beyond. Now that my family is grown up I have the time and luckily the money to be able to follow the City home and away and it's still something I look forward to every week and I couldn't imagine just stopping and doing something else.

David,

Mason, is nearly 19 now and has lived over here for 12 years, was a talented footballer on Mallorca's books, gave that up at 16 to work for his Father even though Barcelona asked him to go over there for three months. That's his choice, I did say my feelings
He Never really watched live football so never had the the passion for it and his father is for the egg Wales, as they say sons usually follow in their Fathers footsteps.

wow, that is shocking I mean, to be a talented footballer, and give it all up, I mean, sounds like his heart was never in football. then again, part of me is delighted hes off the forum, seemed a nice guy, but god, he spam-posted a load of rubbish so many times, copy and paste jobs from anything and everything

Met young Mason last summer and have to say regardless of his choice of ball, is an absolute credit to his family and setting himself up for a quality lifestyle that I can only aspire to have. Great bloke, lovely family, super friends, what a location, say hello to the crew Annis :thumbright:

Didn't mind the kid met him a couple of times at home games last season when I would pop over to the ninian stand now and then which I made a point to go over as I knew he was flying out to watch, seemed nice enough but also done a good job on this forum so good luck to him

Did he really turn down a punt at 3 months at Barcelona FC?

Find that amazing.

Yes he did, he chose to work for his Father, remember Mason was only 16 at the time and he would of had to move over there away from his family. Everyone deals with things differently :thumbright:
