' THIS CARDIFF CITY XI WILL BEAT WIGAN '

Written by: Ashley Williams

Cardiff City have really stepped up their game in recent weeks under the influence of new additions and a highly motivated manager in Neil Warnock to inject some morale into the squad.

The Bluebirds have picked up seven points out of a possible nine and that has seen them rapidly rise out of the bottom three.

They picked up a credible three points away to Nottingham Forest last weekend that really indicates how far they have come over the past month.

They face a Wigan Athletic side at the weekend who are without a win in October, but have picked up three draws in their last four games.

The Bluebirds will be looking to continue their momentum at the weekend and take advantage of Wigan’s depleted form.

With Cardiff City at home, and the fans starting to get behind their team, they should comfortably see off the Latics and could move up to a mid-table position, if other results go their way.

If Pilkington is our lone striker the tactic of pumping high balls up to him will have to be discarded it would simply be a waste of time

i agree but saying that i thought we was better with pilks upfront against forest his movement is far better than lamberts even if hes not as much a physical presence, bar the glaring miss i thought he played the lone striker very well and should have got a goal or two
