At how many games have we been away and next to the home fans so much so you could have a chat! With a sensible segregation the whole stadium would change in an instant. Banter with away fans is needed to enjoy the game for me. I know not sure for a everyone but the family should be furthest away from any abuse. I had a season ticket with my young lad for 4 seasons and it got hairy a few times. Not for under 9 year olds

The club are listening to us fans and doing everything they can to re engage. Despite what some want to believe they have shown despite previous statements " the Cardiff way " etc they will still rip that up if they need to make a decision.
The club are asking what we want from match day, let's just for a minute forget any obstacles that some will put up because let's be honest it wouldn't be difficult to swap the canton with the grange end.
For me with the recent positivity, the passion being shown from the manager and players the " new era grange end " would be fantastic and a real asset for the team the club and restoring " our Cardiff " I also believe it would increase attendances.
Thoughts? Is this something people badly want or not?

This has been raised several times in the past , and I have yet to see a valid argument to support it.
Most grounds in this country and the vast majority abroad do not feel the need to have their more vociferous fans next to away fans and it has had no detrimental impact on the atmosphere at games. The atmosphere is created by the fans themselves who don`t seem to share the view of some on here (who are of course perfectly entitled to their reasoned arguments) that this switch of the type of home fans currently occupying the Grange and Canton ends of CCS would somehow improve the atmosphere.
If you just look at the atmosphere created by "ultra" type fans in Continental Europe (the likes of Germany, Spain, Italy , Poland to name just a few) it is always "loud and proud" and they don`t feel the need to "eyeball" visiting fans to generate that atmosphere.
It would be great to have this "new era" of louder home support but there is no reason why it can`t happen in its current location. Others can do it at most football grounds , so why should CCFC fans be any different?

As a former Grange ender at Ninian I can tell you that the atmosphere was created because of the need to outsing the visiting fans right next to us and in so doing the extra noise made us the 12th Man and spurred our team on. The problem in the new stadium is that the Canton stand can't really hear what the away fans are singing so consequently there is no banter and no need to raise the noise levels. Put Canton lads next to the visitors with a sensible no mans land segregation and you listen to the difference. I think this will be implemented in the near future and it's just another step forward on the Club re engaging with its supporters. Guarantee this will bring a lot of fans back too.

Football has moved on from the abuse of the 70s and 80s. We all look back with rose tinted glasses at the days of our youth, but were they really that much better? The vast silent majority of modern football fans come to games BECAUSE of the safe and comfortable atmosphere of modern football grounds.
I appreciate that is not the view of many on here, but that's the modern game. Trouble at football grounds has largely died away, but you give people a little bit of leeway and you get incidents like those which happened last night at West Ham / Chelsea.
I remember the 60s/70s/80s where you had to constantly have your wits about you so you didn't get trampled by some stupid pricks "steaming" into opposing fans, or pushing and shoving indiscriminately, not caring whether old are young were in the way.
Ultimately, you don't need away fans for atmosphere- just enthusiasm from a stadium full of home supporters!

Sorry mate but I'm 26 and my young teenage years were in the early 00's and the banter with the away fans was big part of why I got hooked. it's nothing to do with the hooligans in the 70's and 80's. Or anything to do with fighting for that matter. Your talking shit.
Football grounds don't need away fans.. What planet are you living on?

Nash, was against the whole of Section A bottom/top tier of Ninian Park, Yet in the Top Tier, there was not an arrest for over 5 years. He wants happy clapping/American style.
I gave a list of 800 season ticket holders all signed by every fan from Sect A (Top/Bottom) and some B, from Ninian Park, all asked to sit together in the New Stadium, 6 months before we left. NO CHANCE, I won't repeat on here the words that were said.

Perhaps no away fans is a bit extreme.
But as I head towards the 50th anniversary of my first game, I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed the match day experience as much as I have since we moved to the new stadium. It's calm, relaxing and comfortable. Now I realise that it may be anathema to many people on this board, but many people like it. It means you can bring families safely without having to worry about their safety.
A full ground and successful team will soon generate all the atmosphere you want. I respect your opinion, but in the real world, I think that most fans think much as I do.

But after our first game at the CCS with Bristol City a mate of mine who is BCFC said to me he hated it there, his words were no atmosphere and he felt SAFE !! He said he missed feeling shit scared like he did at Ninian Park and wished we stayed there.
But the fans love a rousing atmosphere and so does the players and Managers, the away fans love banter as much as we do, so why can't we change it back ? More Police costs they say !! But the CCTV is so good they can zoom in on you reading a match programme and read the friggin text so if anyone Miss behaves then they deserve it. And with the threat of banning orders I can't see a problem. Just I feel the club is being very stubborn on this issue IMO and for once the should listen to the paying public.
West Ham ain't doing us no favours at the moment but they are having trouble every game now and that includes. Them fighting each other as well.
