' Eight football fans arrested following disorder at Bury vs Bolton game '

Bolton sold their full away allocation of 3,500 for a live/sky Monday night game.
The match, which gave Bolton Wanderers a 2-0 win over the hosts, saw a number of supporters throwing fireworks and other missiles from the stands
Disorder broke out during the game at Gigg Lane between Bolton and Bury,with Bolton fans had infiltrated the home end,which erupted in violence between Bolton and Bury fans.
Eight football fans have been arrested after disorder broke out during Bury’s derby clash at home with Bolton.
The match, which gave Bolton Wanderers a 2-0 win over the hosts, saw a number of supporters throwing fireworks and other missiles from the stands.
One football fan was arrested on suspicion of affray and another two were detained on suspicion of pitch encroachment.
There was also an arrest after reports someone threw a coin from the stands at Gigg Lane , and another fan was held for allegedly throwing a firework during the game.
Police also arrested somebody on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order while another was detained for drunk and disorderly behaviour.
Someone was also detained for possession of cannabis.
Before kick off, Greater Manchester Police urged fans to behave themselves and to stay safe during the match.
Chief Insp Joanne Marshall-Bell, match commander for Bury against Bolton, said: “I know local derbies can be emotionally charged occasions but I would like to urge fans to behave responsibly and enjoy the football without compromising the safety of others in attendance.
“Let’s hope Monday’s match is a great spectacle that all those in attendance can relish and talk about for weeks to come.”
