Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock reveals why Emyr Huws hasn't been in the team

The Bluebirds boss will look to give fringe players a chance to impress in a behind closed doors friendly
Neil Warnock says that Emyr Huws has been 'unlucky' not to feature in the first two games of his tenure so far.
The prodigious midfielder arrived amid much fanfare earlier in the season, having impressed for both Huddersfield and the Wales national team last season.
However, the 23-year-old has not been part of the last two match day squads as Warnock's team took four valuable points from high-flyers Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday.
The experienced boss has said that Huws' recent international commitments may inadvertently worked against him over the last week.
Warnock said: "I've been happy with the lads I've played in there [midfield].
"He hasn't really had a chance, I suppose it was unlucky for him to be away with the Welsh squad because he wasn't in when I was working with them, seeing what I could do with them and organising them. That was a very important two days, there, so he's been a bit unlucky. I've just not seen enough of him, If I'm honest."
Keen to improve his side's fluency and creativity in attack, however, Warnock is hoping to give the likes of Huws a chance to impress in a behind closed doors friendly next week.
It should also give the likes of Lex Immers, Kieran Richardson and Anthony Pilkington to a chance to get minutes under the belt after missing much of the action this week for various reasons.
Warnock revealed on Wednesday night that Richardson had been signed to play at left-back, but was surprised with the progress Joe Bennett had made as he recovered from a calf injury.
Warnock said: "I'm trying to get a game fixed up for midweek coming so I can see one or two of them in action. It'll also give one or two lads a bit more fitness, the likes of Kieran Richardson."

Sensible answer as you'd expect.
Given the chance Huws could be a better option than Ralls in an attacking midfield role and to get up and support the striker.

Admittedly I've not seen enough a lot of him, but on what I have seen he is a mile off getting into the first team.
Hopefully with a couple of weeks full training he can push for a place in the squad but I'm not holding my breath...got a feeling his City career is going to be short lived!!

Like Neil Warnock says, Hughes is unlucky to gave been away. It's up to Emyr now, though. Needs to prove to the manager that he deserves a place. Ralls has played better in the last two games than so far this season. We've got quite a decent squad now, so a few of them will have to wait their chance.

Totally agree here looks average at best and is way down pecking order.

A 23 year who has played just 60 games in the championship or above.......Obviously a world beater

Always played better for Cymru. He needs to get match fit. He can get more goals than Ralls though.

Whits as we all know it's primarily left footed, Huws is very left footed too, not many teams plays with two left footed midfielders.
