Can Whitts goal celebration be even more understated ?

Thu Oct 20, 2016 6:42 pm

I think we should be naming streets after this kid, but could he celebration be even less celebratory (and is getting even more so this season) or is the "it's nothing" the ultimate cocky celebration ?

Probably be a bit different if he was scoring from open play.

He's just a very focussed player, level headed player and he knew there was a long way to go.

I could be way off but my interpretation of it was that he hasn't scored a free kick literally in years and it was probably a big relief for him as I'm sure he sets high standards for himself.

Has he ever celebrated one of his goals?

I think the laid-back, matter-of-fact way he just stands there to be mobbed after scoring is part of his sense of humour. No fuss or hype - just a private giggle.

Spot on! Relief! "Thank God, I'll be under the radar this week".

Not 'cocky', but cool! Agree with you about streets. How about Boulevard Whittingham, Whittingham Strasse, Peter Whittingham Avenue, or Whittingham Square?
