Neil Warnock praised the heart and commitment of his Cardiff side after they maintained their unbeaten start to his managerial tenure with a 1-1 Sky Bet Championship draw at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

Neil Warnock sees plenty of reasons to be confident that his side can get out of trouble.

Warnock:"I think four points from two games is fabulous really. We had to hang in there but you have to do that against a good side like Sheffield Wednesday," he said.

"I am still disappointed with the goal we conceded, it was poor, but I was really pleased with the effort from the lads.

"We were not quite firing in attack but you will have games like that in the Championship and we live to fight another day.

"We will get a lot fitter and a lot sharper in the next couple of weeks, just in time for a tough run of games.

"The players are enjoying it, they put their bodies on the line. We were second best in a lot of areas in this game, but we were not second best in what we had under our shirts.

"I thought we were superb in that regard and the fans appreciated that."

Whittingham produced an excellent curling free-kick after Sam Hutchinson had brought down Craig Noone on the edge of the area.

Rickie Lambert wasted a chance to extend the lead when he fired over, while Sol Bamba and Sean Morrison had headers cleared off the line.

Nice to have a manager who sees it and says it as it is.

Warnock is spot on in his assessment of the game - we were mostly outplayed but there were a number of positives to take from the game.

He's identified the problems with attack and the apparent lack of fitness of the players (what was that Rylands bloke doing whilst he was here?) and I have no doubt he will take the appropriate steps to address those issues over the next few months.

David, I am a massive admirer of Warnock and I love that he is straight talking, exactly what our club needed :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Annis,

Makes a refreshing change after what we have had to put up with over the past few seasons. At last we have a manager who has been there and done it at Championship level.

After the last 2 games comes the realization that without the change we were going down. Any doubt or hope that we would have avoided it has gone.
