DAVID MARSHALL

Conceded 13 goals in 3 games
I have a feeling we won't be getting the £1.5m bonus for number of appearances

Overrated by many on here, best days behind him,Hull will be in Championship next year?

Looking likely. They've lost 5 on the trot. Which also means we lose out on another million pounds due to our transfer committee's excellent business

That's just over 4 goals a game.

That's the best offer we had for him and he wanted to go, so we bit the bullet.

The Premiership is a different kettle of fish to the championship although I admit it sounds like he's struggling.
I would prefer to still have him all day long compared to Amos.

I know he's dealt with sendings off, penalties, etc, in some of those appearances but end of the day when you are conceding 5 or 6 goals, there is a fundamental issue with your goalkeeper.

Marshall, as superb as he was for us in 13/14, has not been anywhere near as good ever since. Sent off twice, insanely easy to beat with shots from distance, kicking got worse, and his all round performance was not good enough. He seems to have carried that with him to Hull, which is a real shame, as it looks like this move runs the risk of damaging his reputation.

Honestly, I'm surprised he chose to go to what was clearly going to be another PL relegation campaign where he was going to concede a lot of goals.

Still a very good keeper but we got the best out of him and sold him right time I believe

TBH I liked Marshall but that's past now .
He probably had the best time of his career with us, but I feel he is now on a downward slope.
Time to move on

He's a great keeper.

You're all being too harsh.

Hull are really really shit.

Hull's defenders were dreadful yesterday.

Still a great keeper, too easy to try to pick out negatives as his positives eclipse them. Hull are awful and as someone else said who actually watched the game, their defence was terrible. Folks who say good GK's are a dime a dozen are clueless and we've been exposed and still are on the GK front. I think Marshall is going to have a torrid time at Hull, I'd have him back in an instant and so would Warnock.

Hes a decent keeper but he was way overated by a lot of our Fans thats undisputable.

He was not at fault for any of the six goals scored by Bournemouth.

I can well believe it but for some on here, they see Hull have let in six and they automatically think - he's shit, he's past it, etc.
I'd swop him with Amos in a second.

Positioning 3 seconds be for the goals yes he was at fault for at least 3 of their goals.

No he's not a great keeper he's a great shot stopper and that's it. When will you people realize there's to being a keeper than just shot stopping for the camera.

The Mirror ranked his performance as a 7, so it was not that bad

Re: DAVID MARSHALL

It was only four seasons ago that there were many threads on here moaning that Heaton was superior and should be starting.

My take is he is a great top championship/lower prem keeper and we paid him for that in his salary. The problem was that salary was dependent on us getting promoted or being in with a shout and we are not, so he had to go.

Nothing wrong with Marshall,Hull's defence is pants.Steve Bruce didn't leave them for nothing you know.I think he made a mistake going there but at the time we were pants too. They could play 2 keepers and it wouldn't improve their results.

They were, but he didn't have his best day, he was partly responsible for at least a few of them. It looks like his confidence has taken a bit of a hit, he was much better than that for us........

Huge fan of Marshall and everything he did for the club. Just never seemed to regain his form over the last season or two. Felt that he saved us a lot of points, but at times he seemed to be beaten easily with some questionable attempts on goal. Always sad losing such a long serving member of the club.. But such as life.

It'll be a long old season for him.. Hopefully he can turn it around
