Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock expects a decision to be made today as to whether the club will add Kieran Richardson to their first-team squad.
Warnock has already signed three free agents since his arrival in South Wales and the former Aston Villa and Man Utd star could yet be the fourth.
Warnock said: "I think everybody knows that I've had Kieran down here this week.
"It's a matter of chatting to him and seeing what the situation is, there's nothing concrete about that. I would like to get him on board. We'll probably make a decision on that today, we'll have a full training session with him today and then have a chat with him.
"I'm always hopeful but I'm also long enough in the tooth to know nothing is for sure."
Warnock also opened up on the signings of Junior Hoilett, Sol Bamba and Marouane Chamakh.
Warnock said: "The opportunity to bring the lads in was too good to turn down, they’d have gone elsewhere if we hadn't moved quickly. We’ve got one or two niggles in the squad, the likes of Rickie Lambert.
"With Sol Bamba, I felt we needed some more leadership in there and I’ve seen him play midfield too, so that’s another string to our bow."
All three could be in contention to play on Friday night as the Bluebirds take on Bristol City, but Warnock conceded that he'll have to keep an eye on the situation.
Hoilett has featured for Canada and so does have minutes under his belt.

its always exciting getting new blood into the team, especially as we have got so stale in the last 6 months or so.
He's a realist our Colin - these 4 might or might not work out, but it has given us, the supporters, a fillip and should I hope stimulate a positive reaction from the players too.
Landing in Heathrow at 7 Friday morning so I can make the game, been in the Middle East all week, thank God for this forum to keep me up to date!!
