Meet the red-hot Bristol City and England Under-21s striker Neil Warnock described as 'the steal of the century'

Cardiff City face the free-scoring 19-year-old in Friday night's Severnside derby

It's been quite a season for Bristol City's Tammy Abraham.

The 19-year-old Chelsea loanee is setting the early pace this season in more ways than one. He is the Championship top scorer after bagging eight goals in 10 league starts to propel to Robins into the play-off places.

His performances have even caught the eye of interim England Under-21s boss Aidy Boothroyd, who handed Abraham a debut in Kazakhstan at the weekend.

And the striker, who only turned 19 on Sunday marked his full Under-21s' debut with a goal for the young Lions against Bosnia-Herzegovina at Walsall's Bescot Stadium.

Cardiff City and their new boss Neil Warnock will have one eye on events in the west midlands, as they seek a way of nullifying the threat posed by Abraham ahead of Friday's Severnside Derby in the Welsh capital.

Whether the new Bluebirds boss opts to field his own secret weapon -- newly signed centre back Sol Bamba -- in an effort to negate Abraham remains to be seen, but the wiry Robins' striker has the pace to worry any defence and the composure to finish from close range.

Warnock himself described Bristol City's summer business -- selling French forward Jonathan Kodjia to Aston Villa for £15million and bringing in Abraham as a loan replacement -- as the 'steal of the century'.

Stopping Abraham will be paramount in Warnock's thoughts as the 67-year-old begins his pre-match preparation ahead of Friday's titanic clash.

"To pick up someone who scores 11 goals by the end of September on a free and then sell another forward for £15m has to be great business," said Warnock.

"I've seen what he (Abraham) has been doing, and it looks like the steal of the century to me."

"Bristol City have signed some really good players and it will be a tough game for us.

"They are scoring goals, winning games and the boy Abraham has been exceptional."

Abraham and United starlet Rashford are just three weeks apart in age and Boothroyd was delighted to draft the Robins striker into his squad when Rashford was called up by England manager.

"I will have no hesitation in starting him and it’s great to have Tammy after losing Marcus," he said. "It just seems whatever he touches, goes in.

"It’s great for Bristol City, great for Chelsea and really good for England because he is playing at a good level."

The Robins have won their last three matches, which included a 4-0 rout of Fulham that saw Abraham open the scoring inside 10 minutes. He is well supported in the Bristol lineup by former Bournemouth forward Lee Tomlin and the experienced Aaron Wilbraham.

its not really a steal, since they have to give him back at the end of the loan. chelsea are the real winners in this as they now have a valuable asset on their books.
