' JUNIOR HOILETT WAS ON MASSIVE WAGES '

New Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock yesterday signed Junior Hoilett as he was a free agent, the highly rated Hoilett had been hoping a Premier League club would sign him,but jumped at the chance to sign for his ex manager Warnock.

In four years Junior Hoilett made an incredibly meagre 30 starts and 41 sub appearances for Queens Park Rangers, in which he pocketed close to £40,000-a-week on average - even given the checks on wages for promotion and demotion.

Hoilett has signed a contract with the Welsh club until the end of the season. He had been a free agent since deciding to leave QPR when his contract expired.

Junior Hoilett had told Rangers he did not want to stay at Loftus Road and was not interested in signing a new deal.

Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was keen to keep him and, with Hoilett having not secured the Premier League move he expected to, Rangers still held out some hope that he would return.

Hoilett played under Warnock at QPR during the Yorkshireman’s spell as interim boss prior to Hasselbaink’s appointment last season.

Be very interesting to known what Cardiff City are paying Hoilett till June 2017,as we are supposedly reducing our wage bill rapidly?

£40k a week at QPR till June . Then nothing a week until October.
I'd bet he's just glad to have a wage now,so I'd guess he's on something like £15-20k,with probably £150k signing on fee plus some bonuses thrown in.
Agents are wonderful people, promised him teams like Liverpool Man U ,would come in for him.
But at the end of the day only Cardiff and the persuasive Neil Warnock, he as bills to pay like all of us and I bet his savings took a kicking ,and his agents arse.

Good move as no transfer fee which more than covers his wages, no doubt we will see how things progress. He could potentially be worth a few quid if we offer him a contract further down the line.

Gareth, I reckon he's come to us for about £15,000 a week, my guess on this.

Exactly, no signing fee for a player potentially worth a few million. These are smart investments

That would be my shout as it is a short term contract. The plan from Hoilett's point of view is to put in Gareth Bale style performances and earn a big Premiership contract in the summer.

he has almost no transfer value as he is only contracted until the end of the season. we are clearly a stepping stone for him, but i won't be complaining as long as he gives 100%.
