Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has confirmed the club have been in talks with FOUR players since he took over, with Kieran Richardson the latest name linked with a move to South Wales.

Warnock said: "We've had a chat with another player as well so I wouldn't write off another two or three players joining us. We have to balance the books but Mehmet (Dalman) and the board have been very supportive."

"I'm looking forward to working with what I've got, with a little help from Mehmet and the board to supplement what we've got and (with Bamba and Chamakh), I'm only talking about one of them until January.

"But I'm very hopeful we can bring them both in."

The former QPR and Crystal Palace boss said another striker was paramount to support Rickie Lambert.

He added: "Rickie Lambert has got a bit of a niggly injury and I don't think he can play three games in a week."

It comes as yet another boost for Bluebirds' fans who will undoubtedly flock in their thousands on Friday night for Warnock's first game in charge, a Severnside Derby against in-form Bristol City.

Warnock also confirmed that he'd previously been in talks with Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest in the summer, but the move to Cardiff was one he couldn't turn down after being made number one choice by Dalman as Paul Trollope's successor.
