Cardiff City: Marouane Chamakh, Sol Bamba and Junior Hoilett having medicals with Cardiff City today :bluebird: :bluebird:

Monday 10th October 2016

Marouane Chamakh made 66 appearances for Crystal Palace in a three-year spell with the club

Cardiff City targets Marouane Chamakh, Sol Bamba and Junior Hoilett are all having medicals at the club today, BBC Wales understands.

32-year-old Chamakh, who was released by Crystal Palace in the summer, had previously attracted interest from Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock.

Bamba, 31, left Leeds United due to personal reasons in September having made 56 appearances for the club.

Canadian Hoilett, 26, is also a free agent having left QPR in the summer.

The Canada international was once seen as one of the brightest young players in the Premier League.

His progress has been hampered by injury in recent seasons, but in 2015-16 he made 31 appearances for QPR and scored six goals.

I have a quick question, how come we are now suddenly able to bring in players? I'm sure these potential 3, maybe 4, signings have large wages yet we've been led to believe and told by Dalman that our wage bill and loses are borderline exceeding FFP regulations.

Exactly what I was thinking tbh.. massive focus on reducing the wage bill which we have done and seen some fantastic players leave and now all of a sudden we are forking no doubt decent wages to this new lot? maybe the fear and reality of league one has scared them into action. but I cannot understand the FFP situation

Problem is we have taken so many steps backwards so quickly we are now chasing our tails and hoping Warnock can pull it out the bag AGAIN. I personally think he can :bluebird:

We could certainly do with 1 or 2 of these players ASAP to give strength in depth if nothing else

The Football League’s FFP rules cap losses at £8 million in order to limit excessive spending on the wages of players. However, if these losses are not reduced by an owner paying money to their club—including doing so through sponsorships—if the amount is clearly inflated above market value, then the club will be fined.

If the club can reduce continue its expenditure, and increase its other revenues as long as they limit losses to £8m, they can spend what they like.

To me, Tan is pumping more money into the club, whilst the club reduces its overhead.

Pace, Leadership and Creativity.

Didn't take Warnock long to suss out our problems while our previous managers huffed and puffed and avoided the problems.

I am a massive ammount excited about these signings, but not expecting to see many if any of them in the matchday squad on friday.

None of them have played a game for months so will be seriously lacking fitness.

Really hope Chamakh comes in the guy is quality, I know he's a bit older now but not so long ago the guy was scoring goals for Arsenal in the champions league and was scoring goals last year in the Premier league. I seem to remember a certain volley at Selhurst park that he scored against us. Only worry I have is that he could be on big wages. With Lambert on a reported 30k a week I'm sure Chamakh would want at least 15-20k.

The maximum loss is £5m not £8m. I think you are confusing that sum with the maximum amount an owner can pump into a club via equity (buying more shares). If an owner does put in the maximum amount the club could lose up to £13m.

VT is writing off debt to the tune of £8m per season which then shows as an £8m income stream for FFP.

I don't know if this allowed but in theory VT could put in £5m cash and then write it off as debt to equity in the following season. If allowed I would imagine that he is not keen to do this for too long but after the mess we got in needs must.

Warnocks appointment is already making more money because all of a sudden the feel good factor is there, the crowds will return, the atmosphere will improve, money will be made by the club. It's economics not ffp

so is tan restricted from putting money in to the club, by the fa or whoever, because of money losses at the end of the season?
