' Has he over stayed his welcome at Cardiff City? '

And have Cardiff City lost money on him? bought for £3.5mill.

BRUNO ECUELE MANGA

By Vital Cardiff City

Monday 10th October 2016

A few other names such as Tom Adeyemi, Aron Gunnarsson, Peter Whittingham, or Kenneth Zohore (yes, already!) might be preferred, but this player has overstayed his welcome with the club for more than just playing reasons.

There is no doubt that in terms of technical ability, Manga is arguably the best defender at the club.

The questionable £5 million fee that came with his signing has largely been repaid in the eyes of a number of fans, and he is still deemed to be worth a large percentage of that fee now.

Unfortunately, for one reason or another, despite being linked with move after move, a transfer away from South Wales has never materialised for old Bruno.

If the rumours of the Bluebirds flying close to the FFP wind are to be believed, then any funds recouped from his sale would be greatly appreciated.

It is also frustrating that Manga’s head has rarely seemed on his football and the goals do seem to fly in when he plays.

For a player reputedly worth so much on the market, it seems unbelievable that the club has yet to sell the Gabon international and re-invest the funds to strengthen the squad elsewhere.

That's a good post.
None of us knows what's going on with Manga behind the scenes, we can only guess. It's quite possible he's dissolutioned with the Trollope regime and is looking to run his contract down.
Has he been offered a new one at a reduced rate and wants out?
Maybe Warnock will re-inspire him to get back to how we know he can play. I hope so as he's a great player when he's on form and is a definite starter for me.

I personally like defenders who can defend, wear their heart on their sleeve are vocal and up for the fight. At the moment he's none of these, he's not up for a relegation battle and this wasn't what he planned when coming to city. He downed tools against burton, that was me done with him.

We will find out over the next few months, it's easy for players to lose their way short term. Perhaps he had no faith in what was trying to be achieved. He has only been poor since PT took over, new manager new start, for all the players. I am think Bruno will come good again.

Exciting times though, and I don't think anyone has genuinely believed that for a long time following City.

Useless article.

It's true many of our players have made some mistakes and under-performed. When so many players are in the same boat you have to look at the tactics and management which will hopefully be addressed through NW being appointed. You could argue that all of our players have overstayed their welcome based on this seasons performances. What about Whitts or Gunar? Seems to me to be a little but racially motivated.

People in the media like to shit stir and the timing of this article is really pathetic.

Manga is one of our best players. If he is still under performing after a few months of NW in charge then fair game but what a piece of shit journalism.

Agreed, bringing his ethnicity into the equation was uncalled for, for the simple question. Has he matched his undoubted talent to a level of commitment.

I'll tell you what's pathetic. People like you trying to make something into a race issue when it's not.

Who exactly are you accusing of being racist here - Paul Trollope for not playing him, or the reporter for raising some questions?

That's out of order. Racism is an odious and serious issue. You really need to think before you write

Perhaps. But I am honestly struggling to see the point in the article when so many of our players have under performed and the author has just picked on the Gabon International. My racism comment was probably unjustified but I do wonder why on earth someone would pick on Manga in a team of underperforming players - who have all performed much better at this level in the past.

Can anyone remember a certain radio pundit laying into Manga last season when the fans all agreed he was our man of the match. There was certainly more to that story as I was told by a journalist... maybe this is the same, maybe not. But the whole story seems bizarre.

I have never been enthused by him.

Makes too many errors. Overrated.

Best positon probably would be in midfield.

I had expected him to have gone by start of this season.

Was excellent when he first came but has basically given up it seems. Agree with one of the earlier posts,he downed tools against Burton, absolutely unacceptable. I wouldn't object to any one of manga, connolly or Morrison going.

I'd say just about all the team have outstayed their welcome.
