Stadium carpark

Sun Oct 09, 2016 8:59 pm

Anyone else think it's just madness to have buses turning into the stadium on match days? Literally where hundreds if not thousands of cars are trying to leave having waited for ages to be let out and then.....a bus turns into the stadium and goes round the roundabout and parks up/stops! Just madness! Thought this for a long time but can't understand why??? Surely the bus could pick up from elsewhere as it holds us all up! It wouldn't bother me but it blocks half of the traffic trying to leave the stadium which is already carnage!

I always leave via the Sloper Road exit. Didn't take too long tonight. Bit longer than for City games, but not too bad.

We used to try leaving through the sloper road exit but then buses left through there too....that tended to be some of the away travelling fans. Also once we had got out of the slopes road exit and then turned left by the time we had reached the main stadium entrance round the other side it would also be ages. I completely understand that with all the traffic there will be a wait to get out and 15-20 mins would be ok but when you see buses pulling in and blocking the exit or part of the exit when at the same time you've got hundreds of cars trying to get out it seems bonkers!

I can't understand that , they stop the cars for people to leave the stadium safely but still allow the buses to come in and go around the roundabout

I know it seems crazy. At the moment going to Cardiff matches it hasn't been a major problem because many people have either left by 85 mins or there are a lot less fans in there in any case but if we become more successful again and for the Wales matches as well its a knightmare! Fair enough pick up from that stadium bus stop when there's no events on but when there's a massive event on like that why? It just makes drives more irate, it probably adds on another 5 -7 mins to you getting out of the stadium and your having to try and pull around the bus that has parked to get into another lane! Ludicrous. Surely the buses could stop isn't there a lay by outside McDonald's or even if they picked up in the asda car park? Anything has got to be better than this crazy way!

I'd rather Park somewhere else and walk than spend half hour trying to leave the car park!

As a bus user I think they are doing a great job taking supporters to the the city' centre after the game, there are a lot of older folk that use it even had a disabled person in a wheelchair using it car users should have more consideration for them and wait after the game for the bus to leave and people who are walking.

All your moaning - just park somewhere else. It's easy.

due to home circumstances I cannot be out and about for too long so having the guaranteed space in the stadium is why I do it otherwise I would park elsewhere (if I had lot of time) this means If I don't leave the house on time I've got a guaranteed space in the stadium where other car parks maybe closed or a last min panic to find a space. Now I know his sounds odd as we have to wait at the end of matches but usually we are out of the stadium within 10-15 of the game finishing. But with anything adding to this such as busses coming in and stopping people from getting out is very stressful!

I know, why people have to moan about someone bringing up a valid point beats me! i mean don't get me wrong, I'm all for people travelling by bus....prob easier and cheaper - cuts down on traffic too  unfortunately I don't have that privilege from where I live but it's just madness isn't it? It would be like rush hour Friday night in on the A4232 then 1 lane is closed! Lol anyway rant over....looking forward to the match on Friday night! COME ON :bluescarf:

In total agreement. 3 lanes of cars being pushed into one lane around the rear of a bus on the roundabout. Where is the stadiums health and safety on this. Sorry to say it will take someone to get hurt first before they rethink the parking of buses
