Saw asbgoing down and would of lost the rest of the debt he made, So is now gambling a bit more of his money to try and get the rest of it back, Which to be honest is the right thing to do if I was in his position

They thought they could get away doing it on a shoestring and they've had a fast lesson. Panicked and basically had to invest or face disaster.

One gamble too many. The cuts this summer were too severe.

To be losing a million a month and taking cheap options with managers such as Slade /Trollope to now having Warnock and his back room staff. They cant come cheap. Signing new players on free transfers and players in the summer on big wages
Do people have short memories with the uproar on hear about staff losing their jobs whilst the club continued to over spend on players. Also the slating Tan and his committee got for selling Marshall and Fabio.
Something don't add up in all of this unless I have missed something ?
Don't get me wrong Trollope had to go but fans on here seem to want it all ways !

We were under a transfer embargo due to a technicality. As you have pointed out there has been cost cutting over the past few seasons and players have been sold.
Most people claimed VT pocketed any monies saved or raised. It is now clear that is not true and the money has been reinvested into a new management team and players including Lambert.
Also remember VT is cutting the debt but converting £8m of debt into equity (shares) every year. This has the effect of increasing our maximum losses to £13m per season. Used to the full that could give a club quite a bit of wriggle room within FFP.

Is that the technicality that since62 was on about on another thread that showed us making profit but actually turned out to be a 10 million loss ?
Surely anyone could see that Tan was not pocketing the money from sales especially as the club is still losing a million a month now - I hate to think what it was before the sales
Tan has agreed to make us debt free over the next five years by converting the 8 million debt to shares - if that is the maximum under FFP how will he get around the remaining 68 million if that is the figure ?

There is no penalty involved in having more than £8m of shareholder financial support through the profit and loss account in a year, it is just that £8m is the maximum that counts towards FFP. Anything written off or converted into shares above that figure still benefits the club`s balance sheet. It makes sense to leave some debt to write off in future seasons as it can then be used up at £8m a season and help the FFP compliance , hence the pledge to do part of it at £8m a season (one already done so far) for 5 years.

I'm glad you clarified that as I have been wondering about that for awhile.
Also would be possible that VT could subsidise us indefinitely and still put money into the club?
I'm not saying he would want to do that just that would it be possible for him to put in £5m cash (to cover the maximum loss allowed) this season and get written off as part of an equity swap of £8m in future seasons?
