I think top half, maybe a touch lower than last season. I'd be ok with this after a disastrous start.
Importantly though, he will set the tone for future, and probably teach tan/dalman/choo a few things about running the club and team properly. We'll also see whether zohore/fred can be used in some way or if they'll never be seen again.
He's bound to be able to attract some players too.

It's going to be a massive ask to get us out of this mess this season I don't care if we finish just outside the bottom three.the club is in a mess big time not just on the pitch.
I think Neil coming in is great I'm pleased by it but it should of happend sooner we been carting around with idiots pissing the fans off aswell.
This new manager fits us a bit of a head case strong willed and has passion for the game and that's what Cardiff fans what I've no doughy if he gets us out the bottom three he will be loved here.
I also hope we get fans coming back he's an old fashion football man not afraid to bounce and get stuck in and i can't wait for him to get going at long last I'm actually looking forward to city's matches now.
Good appointment good fit for us and good luck to him and i no the players are gonna get a rocket up there arse so good around for me can't wait

IMO I think we will finish about 14th or somewhere around the top of the bottom half of the table. I think Warnock has great experience and managerial ability and will get this team moving and scoring some goals. I also think our main strength with Warnock will be not letting goals in (as we have been doing) which will get us many draws with the aim of nicking a goal every now and then. This will se us get many draws, some wins and some losses! I hVe the belief that he will drag us up out of the bottom but we still have the same players in our team and we are nowhere near the quality that we had with our promotion year or even when we got into the top 6. Of course this will also depend on what happens in the January transfer window. If he is allowed to bring in a couple of half decent players we may climb upto 7-8th spot but I think the absolute maximum. A lot of damage has already been done in terms of winning points this season but all this said - I have great belief in Warnock to turn things around.
So in summary - final realistic league position - 13-15
Worst case - 18-19 place
Best scenario with more players bought in 7-10th spot!
PS - If we don't get relegated Warnock will already have done a good job!
Come on city!

I think Warnock will get the club out of the bottom three, but l can see him resigning before the seasons out

I think we are all expecting a positive impact here. For sure, we shouldn't go below the dotted line come May!
We could put a run together and get in top 1/2 by xmas then who knows....... Id plump for 8th given our shyt start prob best we could hope for

Think everyone's getting a bit carried away. We are dreadful and are going to be relegated this season I'm afraid.

We could be about to see how shot Slade and Trollope were and finish in the top 6. Or we could scrape top 10. I'm hoping for the former like Palace once did when they came from way down the league to get promotion if my memory serves me right.

I can see one or two more high earners going to cover Warnocks fee and us finishing 12-14th
Thu Oct 06, 2016 10:49 am
Top ten outside chance to sneak a play off place
Thu Oct 06, 2016 10:50 am
Jesus christ people saying we are going to finish top 6? Warnock is brilliant but he still has shit players with a terrible attitude. He will steer us out of trouble and we will finish comfortably in mid table.

Mid table/ survive in the league will do me and go again next season with him here hopefully, anything more is a bonus but I suspect people on here will be giving the Warnock out or moaning like school brats if we don't win most weeks

I will give it one month and the daggers will be out on here if things have not improved to there day dreaming standard.
I await the no plan B and wrong subs used posts within 2 games or how hes got no idea

Spot on. Keep us up with our shithouse players should be the main aim. Any posts moaning about results when we are mid table will get the full force of my anger. I see some on here are expecting miracles.

Sneak into sixth.

With a manager who FINALLY can utilize 4-2-3-1 (witch suits the team good), and IF the players can stay injury free, the team can have a good run. Where that will take them, time will tell. But I won't hold my breath.

Exactly, it's embarrassing the amount of people here hoping for literally a miracle?

Only a Tan hater would find City being successful embarrassing

I will go for eight position

:thumb right:
Cardiff City's current position is 23rd in the Championship.
Based on his previous record that is reslistically possible but the playoffs is a bridge too far for me but I hope I can eat my words.
Warnock is a fighter that is plain to see if you have ever witnessed one of his bollockings! He wont roll over and give up and im sure he will secretly be thinking about promotion because that is the kind of man he is. He has backbone and balls and manages a blood and guts style of football that we have all been craving! He is not like the spineless jellyfish before him!
As a worzel just stated Cardiff City and Warnock are a match made in hell! Too bloody right bring it on! Cardiff City Stadium can be the fortress it once was. He will make us hard to beat and we can create an atmosphere to make it a cauldron of nightmares to come and visit!
WELCOME TO HELL BRIZZLE!!

Hope for miracles is what all fans do isn't it??!
Don't know why that is embarrassing either.
Aim high
Realistically - we can't get relegated as it would be a disaster
Anything else is a bonus.
Play-off is a target that this club should be and are aiming for.

Lots said top six when Trollope was appointed. I made my decision based on our squad more than our manager, and I doubt if Pep Guardiola could do much more than 12th to 15th with our current group of players. I would hope that now Warnock is here, we can avoid relegation and maybe climb towards the middle of the table. That would be a job well done as far as I'm concerned.

Well we all hope City get promoted obviously.
The thread asks where you THINK we will end up.

I think 10th-14th is a realistic goal. Anything above that would be great.
I'd be pleasantly surprised if we troubled the top six.
