Neil Warnock will be unveiled today as boss of the struggling Welsh club.
Cardiff sacked Paul Trollope after just two wins in 11 games – both over teams in the relegation zone – and with the club in 23rd in the Championship.
Blake has backed the appointment of veteran boss Warnock but admits the club is facing crisis on and off the field.
“There is no strategy and they’re just covering problems”
He said: “They will get an upsurge with Neil Warnock, but while he’s in place Cardiff need to get people who know the game involved to restructure the whole club from top to bottom.
“They need to re-start soon because right now there is no strategy and they’re just covering problems.”
Warnock is the EIGHTH manager appointed by owner Vincent Tan in less than three years since Malky Mackay was sacked during their Premier League campaign in December 2013.
Warnock has won promotion seven times in his 36-year managerial career.
But right now Cardiff are just hoping he can repeat his turnaround at Rotherham when he lifted the club from a similar position last season.
Ex-Wales striker Iwan Roberts worked with Warnock at Huddersfield but reckons he has a job on his hands to settle the crisis club.
Roberts said: “Neil’s record is second to none for getting teams promoted but right now Cardiff needs someone of his character just to sort things out because it’s a mess.”

8 mangers? How do they work that out - Ole, Slade, Trollope and Warnock is 4.

To have moved so quickly by getting Neil Warnock in place is, FAR AND AWAY, the best decision the 'Committee' has made and I say well done to VT,MD and KC.
To employ an experienced and, at this level, successful manager is a massively positive move and in terms of 'strategy' can only be seen, by any reasonable person, as a move to take this club forward. Forward on the field and absolutely the right man to galvanise the fan base and get them doing what we do best 'Support the Manager and the Team'.
We now have one of the very best 'Football' men around at this level and he WILL be a member of the 'Executive Committee'. How does the song go ' What A Difference A Day Makes'

Arithmetic - CCFC have had 6 managers since MM was sacked , not 8. Of those 3 don`t really count (see 2 below).
Logic - why include managers who were only interim ones and were never going to be appointed in a full time role? The joint efforts of Gabbidon and Young only lasted 17 days (thank God!) and David Kerslake only held the reins for 6 days over a Christmas/New Year period.

Keith I agree with you that NB has shot himself in the foot by over egging the pudding. But if we look at his inferences then I have some sympathy with what he is trying to say.
Appointing NW was brilliant but it could be just papering over the cracks if it isn't part of a greater strategy which has to include more supporter participation (including the Trust) and vision for this club going forward.
There are many things which are going in the right direction (such as the debt to equity) but there have also been backward steps with the redundancies at the academy. Youth is the lifeblood of a football club and there should be more investment not less.
Personally I would love to see a fan representative on this executive committee!
