Getting ahead of ourselves

Wed Oct 05, 2016 11:57 am

I'm not trying to put a downer on things but reading this forum, twitter and speaking with other city fans I get the impression everyone is getting a bit to carried away with Warnock becoming manger.

Now I am really happy with this appointment and wanted him as number 1 as soon as Trollope got the boot however I feel we all need to just calm down and take one game at a time and see what happens. Remember we are in the relegation zone and that has to be our first and only priority for now is to get as far away from it as possible.

Once that has been achieved then we can all start talking about the possibility of breaking into the top 6 etc.. Personally I don't want another situation like Trollope where fans get all excited thinking where going to smash it every game and when we don't they all start moaning.

Now everyone needs to get down to the stadium on the 14th to fill it as much as we can and get behind the teams for the full 90 minutes :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Good post and it's about how I see it as well.

You'll have the usual dreamers thinking we're going to get automatic promotion now and then you'll have the usual doom and gloom merchants who will be moaning if we're not doing well after six games or so.
Let's get behind the team and management and enjoy the ride as I imagine it's going to be an interesting one.

Spot on. The same things that are being said now are the same things said when Trollope was appointed, mostly by exactly the same people as well. Personally, Warnock would have been my choice way before Trollope, and I don't think we would have been in the bottom three if he had been here from day 1. At the moment he still has the same poor squad to work with, and I don't think we should expect too much until he can do a bit of wheeling and dealing, and bring in a couple of his own players.
