Slade & Trollope

Mon Oct 03, 2016 3:26 pm

Everyone knows what position the club are in with Trollope in charge. Two wins out of 12 courtesy of two own goals by another team in the bottom 3 and a deflected goal against the other team in the bottom 3!

Looks like Slade is under extreme pressure at Charlton after going 7 games without a win and the press report that he is on the verge of being sacked. He has been booed off the field and fans have been left frustrated at his negative tactics. They have pleaded with him to play two up front.

The sooner that the club realise that you can't pick managers on the cheap the better. Yes the club may have financial problems but unless you invest in a decent manager and give them a bit of money to invest then it's always going to be a struggle. If the club showed some ambition there is no doubt that many 'missing fans' are likely to return.

The last decent manager we had was MM and he was sacked for his off field antics when we were holding our own in the Premier League. That seems a long time ago! When will the club ever learn?

And to think I was one of those saying it was time for Dave Jones to go when they sacked him !! That was the last time we saw some decent football regularly!!!!

Agreed, you look back then and we played some decent football from one end of the field to the other, with pace & Bothroyd and Chopra would get on the end of it. Many fans criticised Dave Jones but compared to now that was Brazilian football at its best!

Tan and DJ are on decent terms and Tan once asked DJ to become 'Director of Football' but he still wanted to be an out and out manager

Could be a stubborn man but I agree that this was the last time I enjoyed the football as well as the success (that Malky brought) :ayatollah:

With the nutjobs making the decisions in our club I really wouldn't rule out the possibility of them replacing Trollope with Slade.
