" PAUL TROLLOPES REPLACEMENT "
STRONG STRONG RUMOURS ARE THAT TROLLOPE WILL NOT BE IN CHARGE FOR BRISTOL CITY HOME
I've just been told Cardiff City are trying to find a replacement and it's Not Lennie Lawrence.
Apparently if Cardiff City don't get a replacement as they are struggling to get one big time, one of our Accademy coaches called James Rowberry could be our new so called temporary manager.
As everyone is now aware we have virtually only been selling players the last two years and not improving our squad, even though the Committee keep saying they are fully backing our managers to make at least the top six of the Championship, so after five managers in the last seven years and so many false promises, why would a decent manager join our club at this moment in time under this Committee? ? ?

Good as long as PT gone.

I've been told he's going nowhere.

If the hierarchy has any chance of rebuilding their credibility with the fans, they have to sack Trollope now and replace him with a more credible manager, failure to do so will cause even more fan disillusion

Let's remember that we'd have to pay off Trollope. Then pay the new manager a wage. All this goes towards what we're allowed to spend with FFP.
If anyone thinks that we'll bring in someone like Warnock or Bruce then they'll be disappointed. Even saying we'll get Bellamy is probably ambitious.
Someone like Rowberry or Lawrence are probably the only realistic candidates.

I think the biggest decision the transfer committee need to make is do they want to see The City in League One next year

Giving the job to Lennie would result in an empty stadium , everyone would give up all hope

Sorry but if we do this relegation I fear will be a certainty
I do appreciate the point you make though

I'd bring Bellers in and offer Trollope to go back as coach, think we can afford this in my opinion

Bellamy would probably do it for nothing! His ego needs filling more than his wallett and saving city would see him into retirement!
Mon Oct 03, 2016 12:34 pm
Needs a big fish to take over a big club!
Holloway/Warnock/Bruce with Bellers as assistant!

Seems with FFP the only viable option and it just might bring the fun back

With the fair play rules how about this for a solution
Big name manager on a small salary
Big bonus if he keeps us up
Another big bonus to make playoff
Just a thought

why Rowberry and not Kevin Nicholson id like to know. Done a great job with the academy and is most qualified at the club

What are the consequences of breaching FFP? Is it worth just ignoring the rules and bringing in a decent manager and preserving championship status, and then deal with the consequences?
To me it seems totally pointless replacing one Muppet with another. Surely, putting up with a temporary embargo with a good manager is better than not breaking the rules and getting relegated. I admit that I don't understand the rules, but is it an option to consider just breaking them and then deal with the outcome later? Surely it can't be as destructive as a relegation.

where are these rumours from?

They need to act quickly and make absolutely sure they get a proven manager who will make an immediate impact, as that's what proven managers do. They cannot make a 4th successive error as this next appointment will arguably be one of the most important decisions they will have to make with our club given that we are relegation fodder through previous poor choices.

I don't buy into this fair play rules reason for not getting decent a manager as we just signed a player on 32k a week if a decent manager comes about I'm sure money will be made available

Agree with this, not sure what it means exactly if we break them either but if its just a ban then i'd say get a good manager, and deal with the ban like we did last January, if we got a half decent manager as well we can probably manage to get some good loan deals.
I would rather a transfer ban than relegation obviously.

I wonder if the problem with someone new coming in is they would full control over everything at the club

James Rowberry is not an academy coach, he was the head of the academy before but he is currently a first team coach, assisting Paul Trollope. He has been in this role since Solskjaer's departure.

I am very confused with everyone's interpretation of the FFP. surely we are much better placed now than we were at the end of last season, with so many players off the payroll, the last 3 saving the magical £4 million, I believe this is being used as a smoke screen to make believe, we cannot afford someone, like Warnock, when lowly Rotherham employed him last year, and he kept them in the division

by who tho the club hasn't said anything it's just the fans jumping the gun saying ww couldn't afford someone we just paid 32k a week for Ricky lambert I'm sure we could afford a decent manager on 10k to 20 k a week

The club were/are still sailing very close to the wind on FFP and would now be under another embargo had it not been for the fire sales of Fabio and David Marshall
Lambert was signed once it became clear we had no real strikers (Fred and Zahore don't come in to that category) and it was felt that his wages were worth paying

We don't have to give Trollope the balance of his contract we could continue to pay him monthly until it runs out. I doubt he is on big money. Apparently Slade earned £130kpa which is peanuts in football terms and at a guess PT wasn't on much more than that.
