" JACKS SACK MANAGER AND ALREADY REPLACED HIM "

Mon Oct 03, 2016 11:23 am

BBC

Francesco Guidolin has been sacked as Swansea head coach and been replaced by former USA manager Bob Bradley.

The Swans have not won in the Premier League since the opening day of the season and are 17th in the table.

Bradley, 58, leaves French second-tier side Le Havre to succeed 61-year-old Guidolin, who was appointed in January.

Owners Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien and chairman Huw Jenkins spoke to several potential successors, including former Wales captain Ryan Giggs.

They were impressed by Bradley's experience and character after meeting the 58-year-old, who has also managed Egypt and Norwegian side Stabaek.

Bradley will take over a Swansea side who have lost their last three league matches and find themselves clear of the relegation zone only on goal difference.

Guidolin had been under intense pressure and his sacking was announced on his 61st birthday on Monday.

Bradley's first match in charge of the Swans will be away against Arsenal on 15 October.

Decisive, proactive and acting before its too late,by their board and owners.

Bradley is a catch for them imo

Very very good manager :bluebird:

Classless action from the JBS. And on his birthday. I am afraid this is the world of modern football and since the Americans have taken control it looks to be downhill from here for them.
Replaced by an American too, someone who has no pedigree and who will surely fail. The Americans have sold their better players and replaced them with no so good IMO, and they will recoup their investment and more whilst the JBS slide down the leagues. Well here's hoping anyway

Its not just Cardiff City that can mess it up big time :bluebird:

Imagine we both drop together! That would be a bitter pill to swallow if despite them falling we are still at arms length. Certainly no good for Welsh football either. :(

a knee jerk reaction from the new owners. you have to ask what more guidolin could have done. he kept them up and had a poor start to this season, but we are only 7 games in.

it would perhaps be justifiable if they were recruiting an outstanding candidate, but it seems that they have just recruited on a personal connection with a countryman.

I am not that bothered but that seems like a bad decision

They don't seem to have played that bad this season considering their opposition and I think there are worse teams in the league than them. Definitely part marketing move/bias from their new investors too who are American. Not a lot of experience at the top level and obviously I hope it backfires.

I just seen a jack tweet it's a bizarre decision to fetch a manager from a mid table 2nd tier French club to the prem.

A quick scan of his CV doesn't indicate he is anything special but I guess time will tell

Lots of Jacks on various media and most seem to be gutted that Guidolin has gone after a run of games against opposition most of whom will be challenging for the top honours this season. They say it's not as if the Jacks have played badly...

Seems to be a classic 'job for the boys' appointment from the USA owners ;)

They are a bit like the Tories, you instinctively dislike them but secretly admire their ruthlessness.

His CV is shite and the American advising the Americans recommended an American Manager, who looks to have done F all at a lower level for years.

They've picked some excellent Managers, but each one is getting worse since Laudrup and the trend is continuing, I have a feeling they will continue to struggle.

It could be worse for them though they could have Trollope

Id love to know why the two posters at the top think he is a 'catch' and 'very very good manager'.

He's 58 and done nothing of extreme note, how ge has got the Swansea job is beyond me, young aspiring british managers must be scratching their heads.

i've noticed now that when a new manager has a poor patch at swansea they just sack the manager in response. before that, they had pretty much continuous success and so everything was hunky dory.

huw seems to be losing his touch. their american owners are of course entitled to employ who they wish, but they know very little about football. if they have a good amount of input into footballing decisions at this stage they will suffer.

that said, bradley may well turn out to be a good coach for them. people were up in arms when nigel adkins was sacked and pochettino came in. how did that turn out? the lesson to learn is to see how things go before making snap judgments.

Swansea fans aren't happy and having someone already signing a contract to manage the club straight after a sacking straight away shows that they have a board of idiots by the looks of it.. doesn't look good for them.

He had offers the man. From what i have heard from players trained under him, he is a very very good motivator. Takes no shit, and extremely well organized. Good tactician and a bright football head. Dont think that sticks out on his CV, but only in his references ;) Different level no doubt, but if he gets the group of players behind him, and i belive he will, charismatic as he is, the will do well under him. Bradley had a good rep in the football world for a long time. Glad to se him finally taking it to another level. If you want to check further in his CV, look at the results he has produced, with very poor players and limited resources. Will be a fun watch, if he makes it or not. But he is a good man.

Exactly, he's coming from the French second tier which is prob the equivalent of league 2. I think the manager they just sacked was decent and I was talking to a swans fan last night who's not happy to say the least.
