' Manga at fault for both goals yesterday '

Sun Oct 02, 2016 8:47 am

Watch the replays then judge for yourselves
yes peltier could have done better with his headed clearance back into the danger zone
but manga just stood and watched when it came back into our box , he let thier player pick his spot and score the first goal
he showed no desire to make a tackle or a block
for the second goal again no challenge of the ball in our area he was in the right place in front of thier player but he made no effortto win the ball.
some one on another thread asked whats happened to manga
well imo hes just playing out time with us , no one will come in for him in january ,he wont sign a new contract ( in this kind of form would we really want him to ) and he will go for free at the end of the season.

Why does it take a month or two for coaches and managers to see what us fans can see?

Manga has been not up for it all season
I'd would pick Ajayi over him any day at the moment.

My team to re energise (a 4 3 3 although even this has littl steel in it for a fight)

Amos

Pelts, ajayi, connelly, villa guy

whitts. Okeef
huws

Pilks. Lambert. Harris

ifwere back on our team selection
for meit has to be 4231
amos
peltier morrison ( becouse hes a goal threat from set pieces )ajayi bennett
okeefe ralls
harris pilks kennedy
lambert
ralls will come good in a central partnership with o keefe
ajayi will bring pace and energy to the centre of defence
harris and kennedy would bring pace and energy out wide
pilks is the perfect partner to lambert
would this team be picked by trollope absolutely not ?why not

Ralls is Son of Trollope in the same way Cowie was with Malky

I said this about Manga in another thread when John was getting the blame for the first goal.

Most of the goals he's at fault for is down to his lazy attitude and ball watching.

He certainly isn't the player he was last season for sure.
Perhaps he's been offered a crap new contract or has been offered nothing at all and he can see the club is on a downward spiral. It looks to me like he's happy to run his contract down and get the move he wants.
Class player though.

Going through the motions in his final year of his contract.

Cowie was a much better player than Ralls is in my opinion.

Better on the ball. I remember a game he played in the middle (against Blackburn away I think) and he ran the game. Was forced out wide to accomodate Whitts and the system Malky played.

Malky didn't believe in traditional wingers as they go in and out the game and give the ball away in stupid position. A team of CM's designed to suffocate the opposition.

But, At least he had a fcuking plan unlike Mike Bassett 5221, 4231, 433 oh bollox 4141

My feeling is we stopped Manga doing something over the summer and he has the "fcuk um's"

Yes, Cowie was better than Ralls, who just hasn't trained on from the promising kid

Manga has certainly not been the player he was last season.

But to blame him for the first goal yesterday?

One of the basic principles when defending a cross is to head the ball away from the danger area.

Peltier, however, who could have headed the ball towards touch or even out for a corner, chose to head the ball back to the edge of the penalty box straight to a Burton player!

Shit defending by Peltier was the reason for the first goal - nothing else.

Lambert really had a go at Manga after the first goal.

He just looks a shadow of the player he was, ironic that Turner looked so composed for the opposition

But it took to more passages of play before I he goal manga did not move his fault you can't go back in the play to allocate blame might aswell said another player should not of let the cross come in that peltier had to deal with
The last play manga should of at least rushed the striker to make a block but he didn't even move

Peltiers header was very poor but they touched the ball 4 times before it hit the back of the net.

Two of those touches were from a guy Manga was meant to be marking. The guy had enough time to take a touch, turn and place his shot whilst Mamga stood there like a statue.

He didn't make much more of an effort for the 2nd I've seen midgets jump higher.

With his statue impressions yesterday hes lucky Pembroke Allen didn't pounce on him.

Even the extremely quiet and emotionless Whitts should sign of frustration with him yesterday after the 2nd goal.

He threw his hands up and said "He didn't even jump!"

Ive never been a big fan of Manga, always thought he was a very expensive, overrated player. It certainly looks like he's lost total interest, & more importantly,,,focus. Totally unprofessional, & totally out of order.

Sadly, this has become the benchmark, for this debacle of a Club!

Of course you can go back to the player who had time to clear the ball under no pressure whatsoever and passed the ball straight to their player!

If you play a back pass which is intercepted and then the striker passes to another, who rounds the goalie and passes it to a team mate who scores, is it not the fault of the person who made the mistake by giving the ball to the opposition, even if there may be more passages of play before a goal is scored?

I agree Manga did not close down the attacker and could have done much better but the person "at fault" for the first goal wasn't Manga, it was the chump who under no pressure whatsoever, chose instead of putting the ball away from danger to head it straight to a Burton player on the edge of the penalty area.
