The mistake was not not renewing Slades contract, it was giving the job to Trollop....They are not the same thing !!!!
There was no chorus of" Trollope in" chants just total abject (proven to be correct) disappointment when the esteemed board promoted Trollope.
Being better than Trollope was not the reason to keep Slade

Yes, Slade was a gem! Absolutely running away with league one and showing his class

Maybe now if he had renewed his contract we could be doing so much better.

Charlton has their own "Slade out" Campaign.. I'm sure they will give him back to you Rydo, for free

cost cutting. from managers to coaches in charge

Slade was a terrible manager. I'm really happy the muppet got sacked. I wasn't happy when they replaced him with an inexperienced former league 1 manager.
If Tan had hired Pulis your bitter topic title would have been very different.

OGS was shit, Slade was shit, Trollepe is shit, and if he replaces Trolls then we will get another cheap shit option.
Sat Oct 01, 2016 10:54 pm
Why do people assume that the fans who wanted slade out wanted trollope in. We didn't most of us wanted slade gone because he was shit and we wanted someone better (not trollope)

I was in London during the week and I was listening to a local radio football phone in. They had a Charlton caller who could have been a City caller from last season, he called him gormless for starters. I wanted Slade gone but he did to a good job here and put us in a good position to kick on with the new manager. He stopped the OGS rot and steadied the ship, some fans forget that. But we were going nowhere under him and moving him on was the right idea, hiring Trollope is an utter disaster.

I had a nosey on the Charlton forum yesterday and the Charlton fans can't stand him.
He had a pop yesterday calling them disrespectful because they booed one of his substitutions so he's really not endeared himself at all.

Make no bones about it with the deeper cuts inflicted on this years squad Slade would have struggled with City.
Hes had money to spend at Charlton and they are out of the relegation places on goal difference only.

http://forum.charltonlife.com/discussio ... /slade-outThat thread could easily have been on here last season, it's remarkably similar to all the Slade threads on here.

Slade should have done a lot better at Cardiff with the players at his disposal, but could only finish mid table. Can't see him doing much with our current squad.

Why would I get rid of the number one guy to employ the number two.....
Only at Cardiff city.
I knew what was coming when we he was appointed sadly but the SLADE haters didn't they couldn't wait for Trollope to take over just because he coaches players with wales
He's never achieved anything bar took a club down ffs
But he knows the ins and outs better than anyone due to him being slades number two last season also its what the three circus clowns want so a coach role he got and a face for the media and fans to attack sadly.
The club will be no beter off with any other coach as that's all there here to do is coach whoever lands on there doorstep.
Untill tans gone nothing will change

This post is spot on, he did what he was hired to do but we were never going to go up under him (isn't that what the board want)
However, Trollope has proven to be the wrong replacement
