He's a midfielder, not a full back. I don't get how Ole, Slade and now Trollope haven't realised how wrong Malky was to move him to that role.

Everyone else has been able to see it for almost 4 years.

Because football fans always demand their club push kids through the ranks, but then first players who get turned on when things go wrong is those same homegrown players.

I'm not singling out John just stating a fact in my opinion he is not good enough, I've said that from the beginning so if you read your post you are saying spot on why is he being picked yet not so long ago you were having a go at the management for letting him go out on loan and that is fact look back at your past posts PS not having a go

Declan John is certainly not good enough defensively at this level - but he is even less a winger.

Yes he's got a bit of pace but he's got nothing really about him. I don't think I've ever seen him even attempt to take a player on when he get's in a good position.

He is a decent attacking full back but for at a much lower level then this.

At last someone watching the same game as me , when he is on a one on one situation 9/10 checks back and either plays it back or square

Wilson, Morrison, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Noone (based on the last 2 years), Zohore, Gounongbe all need to be cleared out.

Peltier, Manga and Lambert are the only ones I would be sorry to see go.

Annis just my opinion, hes not good enough its not his fault that he gets picked its the management who selects the team

To blame John for their first goal is utterly ridiculous.

He showed the guy down the outside so the guy crossed the ball early to the edge of our box, no danger as it was falling to Peltier with a free header, no one within 5 yards of him yet he inexplicably headed straight back to one of their players and we failed to get anywhere near the first or second ball with Manga playing musical statues whilst the guy he was marking was alert with a good turn and finish.

Sorry although he is a worker and likzeable, I have to agree with the OP. Declan tried hard but had a mare at left back today. He looked like the weak link at the back. In the first half especially he was targetted by Burton - good management. Their number 10 was given way too much room with DJ out of position. Also when DJ was close too him he still wasnt stopping the cross - as for the first goal. Also his lack of height is a problem. For me he is a left sided midfield |winger. I give him credit that he stuck at it, but hes not a full back.

Hes a winger i'm sick of saying it.
