"Start New Game"

I remember a few years back when I had more time to spare and used to play Football Manager. Due to my uselessness at the game I often used to start seasons and buy a couple of players and then two months into the season realise I had made a huge mistake. Of course the easiest and laziest thing to do was to just "Start New Game"... learning from my mistakes and signing the right kind of players.

Sadly there is no 'Start New Game' for Trollope and he should admit the being away with Wales in the summer, when he should have been working on recruitment, was a huge mistake. Not addressing the lack of pace in the team ... a huge mistake.

Maybe this could be forgiven if he was new to the club and squad but having been Slades assistant, and knowing the squad well, I believe the fans are right to question his recruitment, approach and tactics.

The fact he knows the squad and can see, as can the whole world, that we are devoid of flair and pace, and did nothing to address it in the summer is a travesty and probably in another profession if a similar mistake had been made would result in the sack. Just look at our squad.. hugely experienced but slow and lethargic. Adding youth and pace to the team should have been a top priority and instead we seemed to have gotten even slower than we were under Slade. I must be honest I didn't think that was possible.

I do feel a wee bit sorry for him. He seems like a hard working and nice guy. But I think he is to blame for the current situation.

No "Start New Game" for Trollope but I may get Football Manager back and escape from this miserable season.
