PAUL TROLLOPE: "ITS A HORRIBLE PLACE TO BE"
'It is a horrible place to be'
Cardiff City manager Paul Trollope has been speaking openly and candidly about the club’s current league position this week...
We know we can’t keep getting beat but we’re confident that by sticking together we can get the wins to get away from the bottom half of the table, because it’s a horrible place to be.
"There’s a huge drive and desire to give Cardiff City fans a performance to be proud of, and more importantly a result to be proud of."
“I'm a football man and I enjoy it, I haven't enjoyed the results of course, I've been very, very frustrated and felt for everyone involved because the group have worked hard and the fans have been supportive. It's been a difficult time but sometimes you need to go through this to progress.

To be fair although things are not improving and it's getting worrying you can see he is trying, the style of play is different but we don't have enough pace, we only have Lambert for a quality striker and our defence has become easier to beat from last season. The latter is a hopefully a teething issue with getting used to the new tactics but the other things won't be fixed until January.

"Get away from the bottom half of the table"
Try getting out of the bottom three first!

Weasel words, not honest enough to say where the real problem is.

'The style of play is different'......Yeah, it's much worse than under Slade!
Afraid it's a load of trollop!
How can so many players under-perform from the start of the season, yet still get selected - Immers,Ralls,Connolly, Noone, all desperately disappointing all season.

The guy is a complete moron if he has any ounce of decency he will come out, tell us all the truth that he's lost the dressing room then step down, but we all know that aint going to happen.
We're doomed under this plum.

am i the only person who is fed up listening to trollope say the same bullshit week after week only for the team to show they are totally underprepared for the matches, im not being funny but if your team is constantly losing games maybe you should set them up to be hard to beat, press high as we dont have the pace to try and counter we need to win the ball up the pitch but all trollope keeps saying is we have the belief, what a load of crap, hes just desperate to hang onto his job

He is honest, but that's not going to turn things around in my opinion.
There's no comparison with when Coleman took charge of Wales! You could actually see what Coleman was trying to achieve and results and performances were steadily improving! We had a clear direction where we were going!
Under Trollope I see no signs of improvement. I can't see where we are going apart from losing further ground! We have played teams that are really poor, Leeds, Preston, Derby and struggled for the 2 victories against Blackburn and Rotherham when we play some of the quality teams we will do well just to keep the score down!
I'm amazed he's still here, but lose again this weekend and surely that has to be it!

I'm sorry but I disagree that Trollope is being honest. The total apathy and lack of effort by the players on the pitch makes it very obvious that they are not behind the manager and "all in it together". The players were even publically arguing with each other during the game.
As noted above Trollope is just talking load of trollop to save his job.

Your definitely not the only one, he's become worst than the rubbish Slade use to say after and before games. At the end of the day it's all talk, and like you said to keep his job, I have no faith in this guy turning it around.

And it doesn't look like you will get us out of it Trolllope.

If we stick together... I'll continue to get paid.
Getting tired of reading on this forum, everyone blaming Tan for our current league position.
What an absolute crock of shit. I'm far from being a Tan fan and I'll certainly never forgive him for the red shirts at home, but it's the players and ultimately the manager who's at fault. Player, effort, formation etc etc.
I understand despite the cuts, we (or should I more correctly say Tan) is still losing £1 million of his own money every month. I don't see a queue of billionaires stretching round the block begging to take his place and waste money on us? He does this and all we do as supporters is thank him by abusing him. If you know of any other businessman who will do the same, then give them a call. If my business was losing me a million a month and I was hated for it, I'd shut the fecker down.
Never mind rather be blue in league 2. More like ...no longer in blue because their is no club. Parks football perhaps.

What a load of rubbish from Trollope. Nothing from anyone is showing desire of determination.
We can talk systems and styles all day long, but ultimately Trollope is continuing to pick players who aren't performing at the expense of those who have the attributes we need and have shown glimpses of what they are capable of when given a chance. If one of two players lack form, it's down to the players - but there isn't a single player in the starting 11 at the moment who had form, so for me that says the buck stops fully with the mananger.
The club need to accept 'fast failure' and move on; they should have got someone in now before the Burton game to try and get a bounce and then the new manager would have had a clear couple of weeks to work with this squad. They are just losing time and points that might be crucial come May.
I suspect the board have to give him time though as they haven't helped the situation; not on an investment front, but by basically employing a manager who missed a huge chuck of pre-season as they were happy for him to be in other employment.

'the most horrible place to be' was in my seat on Tuesday watching that dross that was served up on the pitch!!!!! Normally I am quite patient with managers and really want them to do well as most City fans do and certainly wasn't anti-Slade like many on here, but 0 goals from an outfield player at home in 5 games is indefensible. Along with consistently choosing woefully out of form players, a failure to address issues identified by the manager in transfer market and the lack of confidence of players on pitch surely he is a dead man walking if lose Saturday.

the guy is deluded we have gone backwards this season the players look like they've been told not to take any risks at all and not go forward

A lovely guy like Ole but is under the brink, have to feel that he had to sell players in order to make money for the debt and save costs and couldn't invest into his own team really.. it is a difficult one I want him gone then I don't because of circumstances he has been put under.
