If anything were to sum up Paul Trollope’s reign thus far, it would probably be the sight of Bruno Ecuele Manga, brought on late in the game against Derby with Cardiff two goals down, to be stationed on the left wing, up front and on the right during a five minute cameo. It feels like any grand design has gone out the window. Now it’s a case of throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks.

One area where Cardiff City are really strong is at centre-back, where Sean Morrison, Matt Connolly and Bruno Manga would each get into most teams in the Championship.

Manga has been the fall-guy this season, even when Trollope was playing three at the back and opted for Lee Peltier or Jazz Richards next to Morrison and Connolly.

Manga is arguably the most gifted of the three, if possibly the most error-prone, too.

He came on against Derby but was stuck up front, looking a fish out of water.

Surely, with Connolly suspended, big Bruno will finally get his chance at Burton... and, hopefully, bring extra solidity back to the defence.

Bruno hasn't been great this season but then who has?

Morrison has been average. Good in the air but slow on the ground.

Connolly has been a liability.

Stick him up front.

He did better than Zahore when he came on as sub on Tuesday

I think its back to Pilkington up front on Saturday and either Manga or Peltier replacing Connolly

why are we so frightened to blood our younger centre backs, they played pre season, and did well, Derby played a 19 year old at fullback and he excelled and immediately they extended his contract, we are so obsessed with the same old same old no wonder we are where we are, with what happened with that lad going to Man City, I wonder why with bother with a Youth policy at all at Cardiff City ! No player will show any improvement under Trollope. They say after 10 games, your season will show whereabouts you may end up. Relegation under Trollope.

Get in some experience in the Championship and give the players confidence again!

Manga got a bit of pace and sharpness about him seems the football wisdom of trollope dosent like those attributes same as leavin kadeem out way too fast and sharp for trolls liking. He prefers going for the slow slugs morrison connolly and the pace and sharpness of noone and ralls out wide.

Thought Bruno looked pretty damned good up front compared to who else we got. Lambert aside.

Should have gone before Marshall ( IMO ) .

We have very few players at the moment that have any class.
Marshall was one and Whittingham, without doubt, is another. The other player we have on the books at present is Manga. He oozes class as showed last season when he played game after game. Yes, he makes the odd mistake but what defender doesn't as this level?
Should always start for me even when everybody is fit.

For me he is our best player and should be the first name on the teamsheet. It is a mystery why he has been on the bench.
