Were we a bit silly sacking Slade

Wed Sep 28, 2016 7:56 am

All of us who were quick to want Slade sacked are mincing our words now because the difference in the sides is massive, at least under Slade we tried to have a go and did well defensively, he was a genuinely lovely bloke.

As for Trollope, he’s obviously lost the dressing room and is fixated on the term there is belief in the camp, I ain’t sure what camp he’s talking about, maybe camp Alabama, but certainly there is no belief in his methods by the players and the fans who have to watch the shit he puts out on a weekly basis.

Slade is being remembered fondly by some purely due to the fact that Trollope's Cardiff City can barely muster a shot, and are conceding goals far too easily. Let's not be mistaken though, the quality of football under Slade was dire, and he needed to go. We just happen to have fallen even further since.

Slades wasn't sacked. He took a new role and then took up an offer from Charlton Athletic! ;)

Many on here warmed to Slade the man and came to realise he'd done a decent job with one arm tied behind his back and an irony is that Tan's decision to employ him 'to steer City through a financial rough patch' may well have been a wise one. His football wasn't the prettiest but I bet we'd all take last year's league position over the current one right now!

The truth is that most wanted Slade to be replaced because he didnt fit 'the fans profile' rather than that he was a poor manager and I include myself in that

There are three issues at the CCS currently:

Financial Fair Play still on our doorstep

A lone striker who is simply irreplaceable by anyone within the current squad

A Head Coach that is failing to get the most of his squad and working them so hard in training that they are shattered come game time :(

I don't think Slade could of done better in 3rd season seeing how little has been invested by the club. If they were not serious about competing then Slade should have kept his job.

Alarmingly, it seems our Club staff think they're the bees knees. Can cost cut, replace an unpopular manager with an even cheaper option, and get into the play-offs. deluded
