Wow, where do I start on last night.
A few things are seriously worrying me right now -
1) No leadership on that pitch, I didn't see one player communicate, direct or even someone shouting for a player to get back into position. This to me is seriously concerning, as we do have some exceptional players who are experienced enough to tell some of the lesser, what and where to go, it creates respect and teamwork on that pitch, at the minute we have none.
2) The look and desire of the players on the pitch, the biggest issue for me was that none of the players looked like they had an idea of what the manager wanted them to do. Lex Immers was all over the place, I actually didn't know where he was playing and scarcely I don't think he did either, Joe Ralls does nothing for me, his final ball and general defensive work is shocking and seems to have gone backwards.
3) Captain! exactly what captain, I didn't see Morrison do anything to direct, dictate or even organise the back four, let alone the team as a whole. Everything from the central partnership was long ball and as soon as Lambert went off, they should have switched tactics. Instead they kept playing the long ball upto Zahore who cannot hold up the ball, let alone win a challenge, in all honestly that guy shouldn't be in the first team, i'd rather Rhys Healy, at least someone who is hungry enough to make a difference.
4) The biggest concern for me is the whole management team. We all know Trollope was the cheap option. However, my biggest issue is that he does it alone, using very little experience he has in his own locker. A good manager will always have a solid and supportive number 2, to not only bounce ideas off, but also to seek advice on players, tactics. Yet you don't see Lenny anywhere near the touchline, he sits in the directors box, doing what exactly? What role does Lenny play? Anyone have any idea? What do they do in training? on paper yes I know matches are won on the grass, but for championship Level, the starting 11 is far more capable of producing better, and leads to Trollope and his background staff.
Its clearly not working, and if the dressing room, has gone, I'm afraid someone has to make that decision. However, given Tan's position on finances at present, I don't think anything will change at the club in the current situation.
I think we all need to sit back and expect things to get worse, before they get better.
