Paul Trollope "We've got a belief within the camp"

Cardiff City boss Paul Trollope insists his side can drag themselves out of the Championship relegation zone.

Paul Trollope : "The pressure is on but We've got a belief within the camp"

BBC

Wednesday September 28th

Tuesday's 2-0 home defeat by Derby left Cardiff second from bottom in the table.

Their concerns were compounded by an injury to striker Rickie Lambert, but Trollope believes his players can recover from their poor start.

"We've got a belief within the camp we can dig ourselves out of it and move up the table," he said.

"We were hoping Saturday's win at Rotherham would be a catalyst for that - obviously it's not worked out in that manner, which is frustrating.

"Confidence is not going to be at its best - that's human nature.

"We've taken a few injuries over the last few weeks which we'll have to deal with, but football always gives you a chance to bounce back quickly."

Lambert scored both goals as Cardiff beat Rotherham 2-1 last Saturday to claim only their second win of the season.

However, a hamstring injury forced the transfer deadline day signing from West Brom to leave the field after just 12 minutes of the match against Derby.

With forward Anthony Pilkington already missing through injury, Trollope had to bring on the inexperienced Kenneth Zohore in Lambert's place.

"Losing Rickie so early in the game was a huge blow to us.

"That was a bitter blow on top of the strikers we were already missing," Trollope added.

"I am not here to make excuses. We do have players out but the structure we have means we should have belief we can cope with the quality of opposition we faced."

The loss to Derby was Cardiff's sixth from their 10 Championship games this season.

Next for the Bluebirds is Saturday's trip to Burton, who are two points clear of Cardiff in 18th place.

"We will dust ourselves down, look and learn from it very quickly, and try and get mentally, physically and tactically ready for a trip to Burton," said Trollope.

"The pressure is on. It's a big game and we've got to be ready for that."

"We will dust ourselves down"

FFS - just do the honourable thing Trollope. Admit that you are not up to the job and stand aside.

Trollope should have been here during the summer. At least they got a decent pre-season under Slade. It's all catching up with us now.

Agree,

There must be slogans written on the back of the gents door!

Dust ourselves down,

Didn't see that coming.

We have belief!

The fans don't have belief and the results speak for themselves 140plus days since a city player last scored at the ccs! Another below par performance against a team struggling! That Rotherham result def bought the guy more time but even the performance in that game was piss poor! He is not a manager and his cv showed that! No plan A, certainly No plan B. The guy clearly still hasn't worked out who his best and most consistent performers are! I still can't understand why he spent £2.5 mil on Huws and doesn't use him, Harris consistently on the bench, manga comes on up front! A player who last season could have signed for most premier league teams!

It's embarrassing, unacceptable and he needs to go. Being someone in over the international break to work with the players!

I don't think I have ever lost faith in a manager as quickly as I have with Trollope. How can he have any belief when his second striker is zohore ? It's not the kids fault, but anybody who has played or watched football can identify he's not a football player. It's embarrassing. He has no positional sense, can't jump even though he's a giant, doesn't know when to drop off or when to spin, hasn't the work ethic either. I couldn't believe what I was watching last night. With Trollope in charge and zahore we deserve to go down. Complete shambles against another poor team in Derby who could hardly be bothered. Modern football hey?

I have no problem with the club giving him a chance im all for giving new or up and coming managers chances but i believe the squad is good enough but Trollope isn't. He needs to go now or told min 6 or 7 points out of the next 3 games or your gone.

If as I expect we suffer another defeat to Burton get rid and use the International break to get someone else in to motivate these players to avoid the prospect of a televised home slaughtering at the hands of the Worzels. Can you imagine the scenes of thousands of Cardiff fans in a mass exodus on Sky? Time to act.

From the very start of this season good players like Immers, Ralls and Connolly have been very poor. There was something wrong from the beginning....No faith at all in our Head Coach I'd suggest. We've tried 5 at the back and failed, 4-3-3 is plainly not working either. We've no cover for Lambert, as shown last night. Our most effective attacking player, Harris, has been inexplicably sidelined. Trolls looks lost and there's obviously no belief in his ability.
