3 unused players on our books that could change our fortunes

Mon Sep 19, 2016 1:09 pm

Okeefe - back from injury and needs to replace gunnar or ralls asap. Covers more ground and better on the ball than both imo.

Kennedy - no where near the first team. Maybe still has attitude problems? But has pace and skill and can't possibly be worse than noone.

Saadi - still can't really make a judgement on him but definatly has pace. Choo said they're planning on bringing him back and he's now got games under his belt. Might be possible at Christmas depending on his loan terms.

Should Trollope be hassling to bring Saadi back or is he no better than Fred and Zahore?
What about kennedy should he be playing?
Two of these three got real pace which were definatly lacking. Opinions?

Saadi can't now be recalled till January 2017.

Strange one this as Ken Choo said directly to Carl and myself that Saadi when fit would solve our problems with pace and goals and that was a year ago.

Saadi has now scored 5 goals in 7 and probably will be on 15+ by Jan and we should recall him and throw him in straight away. :ayatollah:

We can't recall him to Jan 2017, another great bit of business by our committee.

I'm still baffled when we are still short upfront.

Annis we signed Bennett knowing he was injured, but talking to a couple of my mates who are Villa fans they didn't want to loose him, they can't believe he came to Cardiff, so injured or not the club saw a great opportunity and took it.lets hope he turns out a good signing when fit we could certainly do with him.

As for Sadi I don't know where he is playing and to what standard but what I have been told his fitness and to play at Championship level is the major concern.

First point, Bennett Ive heard he once looked a class player and hopefully he will this season :thumbright: :thumbright: But to sign him injured and so far missed 9 first team games and at best be fully fit say after 15 games, thats a hell of a gamble.
Why did Villa get rid of him on a free transfer?

As to Saadi, Our own CEO said directly to Carl and myself that Saadi was the missing link and that he will be the player we've needed all season and that was a year ago.

Isn't he on loan to a Tan owned club? So therefore wouldn't any financial penalty received by the club by other club just be going back into Tans pocket? I think they need to - he's a strong player, he got game time and could be the perfect foil along with Lambert upfront - then the training pitch he can only help other players if he's proving his worth.

He's got some good pedigree and youth too - I'd even send over Zohore if the club have helped find Saadis goal scoring touch!!

I'd bring in Kennedy on the wing for pace too (assuming he's got it)

Yes he's on loan to Tans club, they are getting the benefit of Saadi.

Are we talking about the same Saadi here?the one who was slated last season, but now he has scored a few goals in a sub standard division,he's going to save our season lol, sounds the same as cornelius, just because he scored in the champions league, poster were saying we made a mistake in selling him lol,no doubt they didn't actually see his goal, the problem lies with the fans themselfs, we think we are bigger and better than what we really are

True Bennett could definatly be on that list. When's he back from injury?

what about kennedy? Is nobody aware of his situation?

If your replying to my post I didn't mention once that I think he is good enough. I said I couldn't make a judgement and he's got pace which we need. For all I know he could be shit and judging by our recruitment record of recent years it wouldn't suprise me.

That doesn't even make sense -

We think we are bigger than we are?

I think fans just want to see something/anything that may help there club - he's owned by Cardiff City FC and if he's scoring goals then that's at least a positive no matter the level of football - the Belgians have also produced some decent players over the last few seasons so to say that it's a sub standard league maybe an over judgement.

You could say the same about a lot of strikers who've failed to score for clubs coming from supposedly higher leagues, or those who've had success in lower higher leagues after lighting up lower ones.

The guy got injured - he lost confidence and has been sent out to recapture that - if he can bring that back to City then that's good for us.

If he can't then he's another what if - but as fans we should be hoping and positive not slamming him

He was slated when he played last year, yes not for long I know but when he was sent out on loan, not many moaned about it,now like i said 5 goals in a league not the same level as the championship he's a top striker,I'd love him to come back and bang in 25 goals this season but I doubt it

Think you are reading too much into this Annis, we have signed players in the past injured and waited a while for them to be fit, loads of clubs do it.. Southampton spent £20 million on Boufal and he ain't even gonna be until October.

I think it is good business judging what he has done on loan at his previous clubs, he will be a welcomed addition to the team. :ayatollah:

Kennedy was average at best for the Development side this afternoon. Not one player looked capable of stepping up to first team level

I thought you couldn't recall a loan player anymore.

Not sure Kennedy is that fast, just a tricky little bugger who cn dribble inside and out

Gunnars is the hardest working player on the pitch and always gives 100%. so what if he's not technically gifted, Whitts, Noone, and Pilkington have that in abundance.

Should Trollope be hassling to bring Saadi back or is he no better than Fred and Zahore?
Maybe, although Belgian first division is not the same standard as Championship he has pace and that's what we lack upfront at the moment. I think he would do the job playing off Lambert and using his pace to get in behind.

Re: 3 unused players on our books that could change our fort

Tue Sep 20, 2016 12:19 am

I would play O'keefe and Kennedy before Gunnarson and Noone. Then in January would call Saadi back asap.

Re: 3 unused players on our books that could change our fort

Tue Sep 20, 2016 4:14 am

Saadi has always looked a good player.

Bringing him back in January sounds a no brainer but it doesn't solve the problem of lack of pace, service and creativity in midfield.

Bring Saadi back and not addressing the midfield will bit see us score any goals..... So the OP is right.... Get some pace and drive in midfield as well as

Well I think Gunnarsson not being technically gifted is a concern and has been for the past few seasons where we've consistently struggled to a. Create goals and b. Keep hold of possession.

Also, I disagree with noone, he has 0 end product and shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11 imo.

Re: 3 unused players on our books that could change our fort

Tue Sep 20, 2016 7:46 am

With the whole Joey Barton debacle going off in the SPL it's obvious our team lacks a leader, having had a look would you take Super Kevin Nolan? My only problem would be his position who'd make way - he's full of passion and will bring a squad together
