Agree, it was like one big Family, at 18 all the fans looked after me and Lee Simmons that day, as I went on my own, but met Lee on the train for the first time, great day's! in some ways is was not about the result, people enjoyed the day's out and the banter that went with it..

1000 but I'd say 800 lads, not a woman and child in sight. City don't travel like that anymore, proper away days, Stoke in 2000 was another example.

I remember looking down at the Millwall fans and plod thinking it looked like a scene from a film, it was unreal. the slow march to the ground and the aggressive force from the plod, before and after the game.
After the game we were marched onto the train and straight out home. What a day that was and on a par with West ham in the 79-80 season for sheer passion, excitement and dread.
edit, I see myself in that picture

yeah fighting broke out before, half time and after the game. Geez I was just 17 and I could run then haha. Remember going with Adar Glas and chasing them and looking back and they were chasing us, we were caught in the middle.
Also and don't ask why but I was wearing clogs, it was 1979 after all, so I had to grip my toes and leg it
