Solskaer sacked after 8 games

Mon Sep 19, 2016 11:36 am

18 September 2014....
Olly's return from 8 games was 9 points, two wins and three draws...
Perhaps more significantly we had scored 10 goals and conceded 11...
The transitional stage we've been in since Malky was sacked is nothing short of a tragedy.
Under PT six goals scored, fourteen conceded... the second worst in the division... and two of our six goals scored by Blackburn...
The constructive dismissal of Malky may havey saved £4 million but in reality cost far more...
Who do we think would work under Mr Tan? Surely PT is being paid less than Russell Slade Tanrealliin

Always said we sacked Ole too early. They should have either sacked him at the end of the Premier League season or give him enough time to turn things around.

I would've sacked him the moment we got relegated.

Malky at least deserved to stay until the end of the season, no doubt in my mind we would have stayed up if he had!!

We'll never know for sure but we were heading for the bottom 3 before Malky was sacked.

The eight games were in the Championship, we all know,,,but your right about the half a season he had with us in the Premiership. The signs then were not good, but he had to be give a chance, didn't he. Just like Paul Trollop does now, don't you think???

"Ole was hired by Cardiff City on our understanding and belief that he would help us fight relegation from the Premier League," Malaysian owner Tan is quoted as saying. "Unfortunately that did not happen. After the club was relegated many people advised me to let him go, but I decided to keep Ole on for the Championship season. Regrettably our recent results do not justify Ole’s continued role as manager at Cardiff.
“Ole has therefore decided to step down and I have accepted this. During my short association with Ole, I have found him to be an honest and hardworking professional, but unfortunately the football results were not in his favour. As long as I am the owner of this Club, Ole and his family will always be welcome in the Chairman’s Suite as my guests. I wish Ole the very best in his future career in football. We now begin the process of finding his replacement and working towards giving all our stakeholders in Cardiff City the results they deserve.”
Solskjær said: “I want to thank Vincent for giving me the opportunity to manage Cardiff City FC. He has my full respect and I really wish him all the best in his pursuit of making this football club successful. However, our difference in philosophy on how to manage the club made me decide to step aside and allow the club to move forward in the direction Vincent wants.
“I leave the club with some very talented players and want to thank them for their efforts and hope to see them challenge for promotion this season. I also want to thank Mehmet Dalman for his continued and loyal support and feel I have gained a new friend.”

Can't Compare though can you really, ole had a premier league squad with the back bone of a side that won promotion 13 mo the prior. Was given a huge war chest, ripped our spine out, bought a f*cking shed load of complete wasters and was completely tactically inept.

Trolls has seen arguably his two best players leave (plus more) and seen them replaced with an injured player and a league one reserve. Not that I'm saying he shouldn't be doing better ita just that people say malky had it easy with his budget but goes to show it takes more than money to be successful.

Oh and plus the small fact that ole, in all his naivety took us down. We were above the drop zone when malky left.

That is TRUE .

I would say that Ole is the worst manager I have seen in my lifetime. I am too young to remember Alan Durban, and memories of Phil Neal etc, sketchy but even those had the excuse of no money for players. He had money in two transfer windows and bought or loaned players totally inadequate for a relegation dogfight in Jones, Zaha and the Norwegians, even Fabio was unfit so wasn't a good buy at that stage. Coupled with that he changed the team, like you would a Sunday league park team with what seemed like little thought to form or performance, seemingly basing it on rotation and could never settle on a system that suited flitting between them weekly.

To cap it all he then blows the ample parachute money on a ridiculous amount of players that he could never keep happy, paying them huge wages which we have consequently made a loss on pretty much every one. Burnley last year added 2/3 quality players and went straight back up. All cardiff needed that year was the same a decent striker, centre mid and winger and a system of playing.

Trollope is not doing well and I was livid on Saturday and wanted him out but in hindsight believe he deserves a bit more time to turn it around. To compare him to Ole levels of ineptitude is wrong as he has had none of the financial backing that he had

It was 8 points from 7 games. He was sacked after 2 defeats on the bounce to Boro and Norwich.

We were pre season favourites after we had just been relegated and he had bucket loads of cash to spend on transfer fees and wages, and was also paid a bucket load of money himself.

Ole signed dross like Digicaoi and spent 9m on Centre Halfs getting rid of our Captain and leader, Mark Hudson in the process.

Trollope is now managing in a time where anything that isnt nailed down is being sold and he had two first choice keepers sold within a week of each other.

If your going to compare at least get your facts right and compare like for like.

Well said from both you and Norman.

You have to be pretty damn blinkered not to see the obvious in this debate.

Ole (and let's not forgetting board for signing the cheques and allowing the contracts) ruined us.
