Lambert: No Service Again

Sat Sep 17, 2016 1:45 pm

He will never score with Trollope in charge. Terrible service to him

Re: lambert no service again

Sat Sep 17, 2016 1:51 pm

Don't think he did much mind when he had the ball

Re: lambert no service again

Sat Sep 17, 2016 1:56 pm

He had no help, the longer this goes he will look to move on.

noone is crap, gunnarrson is weighted down by that bloody beard, connolly has never been a favourite of mine, ralls is going backwards - so we just don't really stand a chance!

Re: lambert no service again

He also looked slow and unfit

Re: lambert no service again

Sat Sep 17, 2016 1:59 pm

Trollope isn't playing to his strengths, Wez. He's literally just signed himself a new striker, plopped him in, and said "see if YOU can do better than the others have"

First time i have seen us this season and thought Lambert & Amos were positives. The Leeds centre halfs were monsters and he dominated them just need to get an Earnie / Chopra type next to him.

Gunnar is just a destructive player, the problem is 50% of his destruction is against our team. I really hoped he moved on over the summer.

Noone and Pilkington were too far from lambert.

We'll need to play two upfront though and we only have target men on the books :o :o :o :o

Also think Lambert needs a paceystriker playing off him ( he was looking to lay the ball off numerous occasions but he was isolated, no one giving support.

Wow !! I thought he was the one bright spot apart from Amos. Held the ball up well, passing was good but simply not enough support close enough.

:bluebird: lambert will become much more effective if the midfield offer support and run ahead of him from time to time

Twelve corners... They really need to work on set pieces! First half wasn't too bad, I though Jazz looked good at left back surprisingly. For me it comes down to the middle of the park again. Trollope has to face facts Whitts Gunnar's and Ralls all three are small players get done in the air every time. Gunnar's decent defensively, Ralls looking lacklustered and hasn't kicked on at all. I would drop Ralls for Huws certainly, Declan if not being used at left back/wing back I would start him over Whitts or certainly Lex. And finally Connolly ahead of Manga? Don't get me wrong I like the guy, but Bruno is leagues above him in every department.

totally agree lambert is class but needs someone with him

He was on his knees in the second half.

Either he was totally fucked or he was looking for an trap door built into the pitch so he could escape.

Definitely, he needs a pacey striker making runs off him. He's got more to his game than goals.

I thought Noone was very poor again today. He tries to cut inside every time and never gets to the bye line to cross the ball. I was amazed he was not substituted. I don't think he, along with Ralls and Gunnar, should start next game.

Re: lambert no service again

Sat Sep 17, 2016 5:08 pm

To me he played like a 35 year old who used to be good.
He's still half decent but he's certainly not the saviour who's going to score 20 goals like many on here thought he was. The one chance he had when he was put through, it looked like he was running through soft sand and fluffed his chance.
A younger, quicker, sharper player was what was needed. Saying that, he's better than what we had I suppose.

He needs more support around him. Harris and immers in the team would do this. Noone is gone now needs to get dropped.

He struggled to move today, but it was better than what we had. His legs have gone. :sad7:

Why does he constantly play him on the right when he has to cut inside. When he brought Harris on who is right footed he plays him on the left so he has to cut back inside to cross too. Both players then cant hit byline which is where lambert would want his crosses. Its just bizarre. everyone knows what noone is going to do..

Maybe worth trying Harris up with Lambert and Pilks behind them

Noone being awful I just accept now, the club persist with him. All goes back to the OP title thread, Lambert won't get any service from Noone, he don't get to by-lines and cross

He is no different to Fred only he will get a lot more sympathy from some fans for whatever reason.

But according to Lambert the fact that Trollope was here was a major factor in Lambert deciding to sign for us!

Obviously Trollope's approach has changed since they were at Bristol Rovers together.

I bet it was to be fair, it was a job for an old mate who had done a job for him in the lower leagues.

The only winner in this signing was Ricky Lambert, I bet he is laughing is head of (if the reports we are paying him £32k a week are true)

I'm not necessarily saying its a bad signing although I'm very doubtful at the moment. It is however the worst deal in the recent history of Cardiff City transfers.

If he plays beyond Xmas we'll be contracted to him for 3 years, he'll be 38. I cant envisage any possible scenario for us where Ricky Lambert is of use to us in 3 years. If we limit him to 20 games a season which I expect they'll do so they wont have to extend the contract than he's costing a mere £ 83,000 per game. WHICH f*cking IDIOT at our club negotiated that deal. We don't have a hope if we're run by such imbeciles.

He is a bad signing mate, he hasn't scored a goal in open play in over 41 games.

People will have you believe he never had a chance at Liverpool or WBA but its bullshit, he played 36 League and Cup games for Liverpool in one season and scored a whopping 3.

Then he played 26 times for WBA in one season and scored once.

He is clearly on the way out and we signed him on past glory's.

The last two sentenced in your post sum it up perfectly,
